Wai-Ching
Upon its debut, Wai-Ching has revolutionized the wedding dress. Using exclusively organic, hand-dyed silk, and trained in the art of couture, Chrissy has created bridal wear that astonishes. Sexy, exotic, and fiercely colorful, Wai-Ching has elevated the wedding dress from the pack. Finally, bridal wear that celebrates life.
Wai-Ching was started in Seattle by Chrissy Wai-Ching Leung. Chrissy was working as a fiber artist and decided to meld her textile and surface design with figure flattering cuts and a global aesthetic.
The company specializes in custom dresses, bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and colorful wedding dresses. Wai-Ching provides green, eco-friendly bridalwear, custom clothing, and kimonos in silk, hemp,
and other natural fibers.
All the pieces are handmade in Seattle.
Wai-Ching offers custom fits and designs, as well as custom colors and embroidery.
How I cater to offbeat weddings
We’ve put a lot of love into creating eco-friendly bridal wear since 2004. We use all natural, luxurious fibers such as mulberry silk, organic hemp, and vegan silk. Each gown is custom colored using fresh floral botanicals, and expertly fitted to flatter each bride.
Our goal, in handcrafting each piece, is to create a gift from nature that highlights and celebrates your unique beauty.
Chrissy's wedding dresses are beautiful, reasonably priced, and she gets the work done FAST! You might have to wait a bit for an appointment but it is worth it! Every one of her dresses really is a work of art, and is made especially for you. She is also personable and professional and very responsive. I came to her saying, "I want to wear beetle wings in my hair and I want my dress to look similar." She was super excited for the challenge of fading bright blue and green in an ombre - the attitude of a true artist. She even made a tie and handkerchief for my husband to match my dress. Everyone was like, WOW! YOUR DRESS IS AMAZING! The dress really was the star of my look for my big day.
