Karly & Steve’s artsy and crafty upcycled wedding
A certain superstorm may have wreaked havoc in the days before this wedding, but they pulled it all together somehow with the help of friends (and a new “BYOC: Bring Your Own Cupcakes” clause!). We’re really thankful they did, because we did not want to miss the amazing Wai-Ching dress, gorgeously-coiffed dreads, adorable family sand ceremony, and all of the DIY projects. Oh, let’s not forget the Harry Potter-inspired saxophonist/magician and impromptu break dancing on the dance floor.
Superstitions abound at this Friday the 13th wedding
Zach and Rachel’s Canton, Ohio wedding had a Friday the 13th theme including DIY centerpieces with broken mirror pieces, black umbrellas hanging on the stage over the live band, black cat licorice, and they got married under ladders that Zach and his father made. With so much faux bad luck, it has to be good!
Kim & Doug’s artsy food truck wedding
One look at this pair’s food truck menu and you’ll be converted to the dark (and delicious) side: a street food wedding! The gourmet sliders and fries were served in front of a chic gallery that played host to the ceremony and reception. They stayed within budget with a few sneaky cost-savers, and you’ll love the bride’s favorite moments with her dad!
Cake-loving kids, herb centerpieces, and some bad-ass wedding parties
These mini members of Kathleen and her groom’s wedding party have needs too, guys. It was a pretty adorable way to add some levity and get the kids involved. The sign behind this ones says, “Hey Uncle Tommy, here comes your bride!” In addition to this bit of sweetness in the reader submissions, we’ve got some actual cake (with geeky toppers!), a handfasting with lovely herb centerpieces, and a fair few awesome wedding party shots.
A sweet barn wedding with a string band
Maggie and Theresia made almost all of the decor themselves including all of the tablecloths, bunting, and book centerpieces. Friends made their cake and each of their grandmas made cookies. One of their favorite memories was when their friends, who had formed a band and practiced for weeks for this event, performed “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Robin & Mark’s retro 3D movie theater wedding
Elvis has entered the building at this rad retro wedding. Bust out your 3D glasses to take in all the ’50s details from the classic car getaway to one swingin’ Daddy-o. We have your ticket to see this amazing wedding.
