Show your peeps where to sit with marshmallow Peeps
Oh, you say Peeps are only for Easter? I say nay — Peeps as place cards are de rigueur all year round! Kyle and David definitely made it work at their beachside fiesta wedding.
Mini flags, mustaches, and pinwheels: we’re celebrating “Something on a stick day”
The entire Offbeat Empire is celebrating Something on a Stick Day today, so we’re celebrating all things… on sticks. For Offbeat Bride, that means mini flags, mustaches, ribbon wands, pie markers, and lollipops. You’ll also want to check over at Offbeat Home & Life and Offbeat Families to see what they have going on. Let’s stick the landing, stick it to the man, and stick together as we overuse puns and peruse the stuff-on-a-stick archives.
Have a movie love affair with this Disney concert hall wedding
Diana and Luke got married in L.A. and wanted to put a little Hollywood magic into their wedding. And trust me, the magic is happening with movie-themed tables, popcorn favors, and ticket stub place cards. It was held in one of those venues that you just can’t even take in all at once (the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall!). The acoustics must be out of control, right? Good thing they had Del Atkins to make full use of it with his jazz band.
Boogie into your ceremony to a chorus of kazoo music
Guest participation in your ceremony can be a big win in the fun department. We’ve seen kids ringing in the bride with bells, and a little pop culture reference thrown in to the vows to break the tension. But there’s one thing that will demolish any tension that ever existed in that ceremony: a processional with kazoos.
Two brides, two officiants, and a glowing garden wedding
Whitney and Marley had two officiants to wrangle their interfaith (Jewish and Christian) ceremony in Sequim, WA. They had both communion and Kiddush amongst what has to be one of the most beautiful locales in the history of me seeing things. The brides were just chilling in the lush gardens of The Cutting Garden during the golden hour, and it makes me want to roll around in the grass like a puppy first discovering the backyard.
Have your guests “leaf” a signature in a wooden tree guest book
We’ve seen fingerprint tree guest books, and we’ve seen wooden guest books, but now we’ve seen what happens when you combine them: a wooden guest tree!
