About A+K Photography

We’re Alexis (she/her) and Katrina (she/her), the queer wife and wife team behind A+K Photography. We photograph weddings throughout Seattle and the Pacific Northwest for couples who care more about making their day feel like them than following a rulebook.

We photograph every wedding together, capturing the full story from two perspectives without turning your celebration into an all day photoshoot. Our approach is candid, relaxed, and rooted in real connection, with gentle direction when you need it and plenty of space to be fully present.

We love weddings that are personal, unconventional, deeply emotional, wildly joyful, or a little weird. Whether you are planning a courthouse ceremony, a backyard party, a full weekend celebration, or something no wedding blog has a name for yet, we are here to document it honestly and make sure you feel completely at home in front of our cameras.

Services Offered

We photograph weddings, elopements, engagement sessions, and multi day celebrations throughout Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Every wedding is photographed by both of us, which means two perspectives, more of the moments happening around you, and the flexibility to be in two places at once. We also help with timeline planning and offer custom coverage for celebrations that do not fit neatly into a traditional wedding format.

Service Area

We photograph weddings throughout Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett, Bellingham, Whidbey Island, the San Juan Islands, and across King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Pierce, and Island counties. We also travel throughout Washington, including the Olympic Peninsula, Central Washington, Eastern Washington, and the coast.

From big Seattle celebrations to ferry rides, forest ceremonies, mountain views, and backyard dance floors, we are always excited to go wherever your people and your plans take us. We also travel throughout Oregon and beyond. 50 miles of travel are included, with additional travel costs quoted as needed.

Pricing & Packages

Wedding collections begin at $4,000, with most couples investing between $6,000 and $7,000. Our Intimate Collection is designed for celebrations with 20 guests or fewer, while Essentials, Signature, and Premium offer increasingly expansive coverage for larger wedding days. For couples planning welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, brunches, or other events surrounding the wedding, our Weekend Collection includes photography across two consecutive days for $10,000.

Every wedding collection includes both of us as your photographers, edited high resolution images, a private online gallery, personal printing rights, previews within 72 hours, and hands on timeline support. Engagement sessions are booked separately, with discounts available based on your selected wedding collection. Custom proposals are also available when your celebration does not fit neatly into one of our existing options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Every wedding collection includes both of us. We work side by side as a team, bringing two perspectives and a shared approach to documenting your day. This allows us to be in different places when needed, capture moments from multiple angles, and make sure nothing important is missed.

You are in very good company. Most of our couples tell us they feel awkward or nervous before we begin. You do not need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands. We keep things fun and dynamic, giving you just enough direction to feel comfortable, and then stepping back when the natural magic starts to happen so your photos feel genuine and true to you.

Absolutely! Our collections are designed to fit most celebrations, but every wedding is different. We can add coverage, adjust the experience, or create a custom option when the listed collections do not quite fit what you are planning.

We will start with a virtual meeting so we can get to know each other and answer any questions you have. After the call, we will send a personalized quote for you to review. Once you are ready to move forward, we will send your contract and invoice. Your wedding date is officially reserved when the contract is signed and the $1,000 retainer is paid. The remaining balance is divided into two payments, typically falling six and three months out.

Yes, we travel! Round trip travel within 50 miles of our base in Mount Vernon, WA is included in our wedding collections. For locations beyond that, we charge $2 per mile to help cover travel costs. If your wedding requires a ferry, flights, or an overnight stay, those costs may be added as well. We will go over everything clearly during our call so you know exactly what to expect based on your plans.

Additional Information

We are a queer, neurodivergent wife and wife photography team who understand how important it is to feel safe, seen, and fully yourself. We welcome unconventional timelines, chosen family, nontraditional relationships, sensory needs, direct communication, extra reassurance, and wedding plans that make sense for you instead of tradition.

Our goal is to create an experience where you never have to shrink yourself, explain your relationship, or perform a version of your wedding that does not feel true. Your names, pronouns, identities, boundaries, and comfort matter here.

“A+K Photography is queer, neurodiverse, and women-owned. We believe every love story deserves to be seen, celebrated, and treated with care. We welcome couples of all identities, bodies, cultures, and abilities—and we’re especially passionate about holding space for LGBTQIA+ folks who haven’t always felt safe or represented in the world. Our goal is to create a space and experience where you feel fully comfortable to be yourselves, without pressure to perform or fit into a mold. Your love matters here, exactly as it is.”

If you’re looking for a photographer or teetering on the fence about whether or not to hire A+K, let this be a sign to DO IT!! They captured so many amazing pictures and brought the absolute best energy on the day of. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of them!! Our engagement shoot was a beautiful precursor to the amazing portfolio they put together for our wedding.

– Tatianah (she/her) + Marlowe (she/her)

We booked Alexis and Katrina with A+K Photography for both our engagement shoot in Monroe and our wedding day in Ferndale this past September, and we truly cannot imagine having chosen anyone else.

As a gay couple, it was really important to us to find photographers who understood that every wedding is unique, and who would make us feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated. From the very beginning, Alexis and Katrina felt less like vendors and more like close friends. They created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere that helped ease so much of the stress that can come with a wedding day.

Throughout the entire experience, we felt genuinely taken care of. They noticed little things we needed throughout the day (including helping me with my tie!) and making sure my husband and I had protected time for some amazing couples shots. Their presence made the whole day that much more special.

And the photos… absolutely incredible. We are beyond happy with how everything turned out. They captured us, our families, and the joyful feeling of the day perfectly.

If you’re looking for photographers who are talented, inclusive, thoughtful, and just amazing humans to spend your wedding day with, we cannot recommend A+K Photography enough.

– Emilio (he/him) + Nathan (he/him)

The single best vendor and contributor to our wedding! Alexis and Katrina were professional and kind, experienced and creative through the entire process. An incredible team whose works speak for themselves. Professional wedding photography is not cheap, but out of the many we considered, none delivered such quality at as good of a price. You cannot do better than A&K Photography to present and preserve your memories of such a special day!

– Katie (she/her) + Jay (he/him)

My wife and I first met Alexis and Katrina at the Seattle Queer Wedding Show in February 2025, as we began planning our own wedding.
From the vibes and great laughs during our time at their booth to subsequent meetings about vision, complex family relationships, and goals, we had an incredible experience with them.
They’re competent, invested, and made themselves a wholly fledged member of Team Corey Wedding. I remember practicing my vows with Katrina in our laundry room while getting ready.
The photos turned out exceptionally well, catching all the most precious, hilarious, and beautiful moments of our wedding.
We will cherish these memories forever, and it is all due to the artistry these two bring to their craft.
You literally could not go wrong bringing this dynamic duo onto your vendor team!

– Megan (she/her) + Kieran (they/them)

Alexis and Katrina were an absolute dream to work with. From the very beginning they were honest, transparent, and so knowledgeable—not just about photography, but about the flow of a wedding day. They were more than “photographers who showed up”; they were supportive, calming, and fun, offering guidance when needed while keeping the atmosphere laid-back, like having two best friends along for the ride. At the same time, they were professional and attentive, making sure every important moment was captured.

They truly caught the essence of our wedding—the love between us, the joy of our families, and the magic of the celebration. The photos gave us goosebumps, tears of joy, and endless smiles. Their warm, soft edits perfectly reflect the emotion of the day, and we know these images will live with us forever.

Alexis and Katrina delivered everything they promised and so much more. Their kindness and presence made the experience unforgettable, and we are beyond grateful they celebrated alongside us. Our wedding may be over, but we already know A+K Photography will be our go-to for capturing future milestones in our life together.

Hey Alexis and Katrina, let’s get to know you two a little better. Alexis, what is your most unnecessary strong opinion?

Oh, easy. Dogs belong on the furniture. They live here too, and I refuse to make them sit on the floor like little peasants.

Noted, expect dog hair on my clothes after I visit. Katrina, do you have a similarly strong hill you’re willing to die on?

Mine is that every temperature in our house and cars must be in Celsius. I am Canadian, and Fahrenheit has no place in my life even if I live in the States.

So the dogs clearly run the house, and the thermostat is apparently a mystery to most people, interesting. Now, shifting gears, Alexis, if you each had $50 and three hours completely to yourselves, where would you go?

I am going thrifting for treasures. I will probably spend all three hours digging through things and then somehow use the entire $50 in the last ten minutes.

That is extremely on brand. Katrina, what about you?

I am taking all the dogs to a Sniffspot. Honestly, with $50, we might hit two and make a whole day of it.

Honestly, the dogs are the real winners aren't they? What is one thing the other person can always talk you into? Alexis you go first.

Adopting more animals. I do not require much convincing.

That sounds… dangerous for your household capacity. Katrina, your turn?

Adopting a dog, which is exactly why we cannot casually visit an animal shelter together.

So basically, no unsupervised trips to shelters, got it. That explains why your house is full of very loved animals. Alexis, what is the most chaotic sentence someone could overhear on a normal Tuesday?

“BEAN, BEAN, STOP SLAPPING ME. Oh, she’s nibbling me now.”

That escalated quickly. Katrina, can you top that?

“I JUST LOVE YOU LITTLE BABIES SO MUCH! Mojimannnnn! Pickie Wickie Dickie! BEANNNNNNNNNNNNIE BABY!”

I think the dogs are the only ones who understand what’s happening at this point. Last one. What tiny inconvenience turns you into a completely different person Alexis?

Not being able to find my keys. The entire house immediately becomes involved in the search and then I find them at the bottom of my purse.

Full-scale emergency response. Katrina, what about you?

Realizing we are out of Diet Coke. That is not a tiny inconvenience. That is an emergency!
