Electric, pink, octopus-themed, Burner wedding fashions to blow your tentacles away

Posted by

The Empire ladies lost their collective minds upon first look at the wedding photos of Tribesmaid MizAnna and her “husfriend” C.A.L. from their Chapel Arts wedding in Vancouver, BC. From the tops of her pink tentacle-crowned head and his turquoise-accented top hat to their fashionable feet, these two are making us weak in the knees.

Just wait until you see her whole outfit and peep his black suit with the surprise design on the back…

We asked, nay begged, MizAnna for the details on all her fashions. She was nice enough to divulge:

The headpiece was made by Cara Trinder of Hysteria Machine on Etsy. She customized the teal and silver. She was easily one of the best sellers I've ever worked with.

My bustle, skirt, halter, and Cal's jacket were made by a Burner friend of ours… It is amazing. And the green tendrils of my dress and piping of my halter light up, as does the outline of the octopus.

Wanna see some bonus shoe action? Of course you do…

  1. WHA? Weak in the knees doesn’t even begin to cover it! WOW! I am in lurve.

    • Yup, all those neon yellow/green tendrils on her dress and (I’m thinking) the same color fabric on his coat light up! I need to see this in action too!

  2. Is a submission in the works? Because I think I need to see the light-up action. Also, there have been a couple posts lately with ribbon instead of laces on the shoes… I think I may have to incorporate that! I’m loving it, and I still have some left over ribbon from re-lacing my corset!

    • I laced my shoes with leftover corset ribbon! It was pretty and also tied my outfit together nicely!

      • The “tying the outfit together” is something I didn’t think of and is probably the deciding factor for me to go ahead and do it. Thanks!

  3. Everything about this is GORGEOUS! I’m getting my tentacles in a twist just at those three photos! Please post more!!!

  4. I am truly gobsmacked. The details, the creativity, the sheer chutzpah!! Love it.

  5. More! More more more! They look amazing and I’m blown away by their entire look. It amazes me when people can come up with such coordinated, fantastic (fantastical, even!) outfits. I would love to see the rest of the wedding.

  6. Halloo!

Yes indeedy, we’ll be submitting soon- We’re reviewing the photobooth photos on Wednesday, and will be ready to go shortly thereafter. It was superfun! We’re glad that y’all are enjoying the first couple of pictures 🙂

It was the green tendril-y things are the glow-y bits, as well as the outline of C.A.L’s octopus. I had a twee malfunction with the ELwire, and sadly, there are no buttglow photos. Once we get through the photobooth, we’ll know for sure.

    Hooray for everything!

(And yeah. He’s hot. Hells yeah 😉 )

  7. The designer that made the skirt, top, coat, octopus bustle, dress shirt etc is Ash Turner of Mechanic Organic 🙂

  8. You two soooo need to come to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade in that get up!! A- Mazing!
