This LA Mattel toy-themed wedding slayed us with fun details like the bride's green dress, the vegetable centerpieces, and the toy decor. But one feature we were drooling over was their liquid nitrogen ice cream bar from Schaffer's Genuine Foods.
What the hell is liquid nitrogen ice cream?!
The time it takes for an ice cream to freeze affects its texture. If you freeze something slowly, ice crystals become bigger than they would in a faster freeze. Liquid nitrogen is super cold and when it freezes ice cream (or in this case, gelato), it quickly forms tiny crystals while blending with the cream, leaving you with a super creamy finish.
So this ice cream or gelato bar is science-y AND delicious.
Michael and Liesl offered up a slew of toppings, too, like almonds, malted milk balls, sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, crushed candy bars, fruit, caramel, hot fudge, and cookies crumbles.
And OMG look at the flavors!
Are you considering a molecular gastronomy catering option? How about liquid nitrogen ice cream?
