Is it rare to be encouraged to steal something? We happen to encourage you all to steal our Offbeat Bride ideas rather a lot.
But I couldn't get all of my favorites on this list (though I made sure to include my favorite tip for a post-ceremony activity).
What I'm saying is, you should go have a wander through that once you're done with these 30 of my very favorite offbeat wedding ideas ready for you to steal…
1. Play rock-paper-scissors to decide who says their vows first.
2. Build your bouquet on the way down the aisle.
3. Stuck for favors ideas? Give your guests IOUs!
4. Ask your friends to be in your wedding party with a fun “contract.”
5. The popular So-You're-Going-to-Sit-Through-a-Wedding program.
6. Spice up your first look with a blindfold.
7. Outdoor summer reception? Don't forget the bug spray.
8. Help your partner out: Paint your ring fingernail a different color.
9. Skip the guestbook. Have guests sign Jenga blocks!
10. Want a super-easy way to add a DIY touch to your shoes? Don't forget clip-ons.
11. Outdoor ceremony? You can still have stained-glass for a backdrop.
12. Give your evening ceremony a romantic glow by giving everyone candles.
13. Give guests local favors from your destination wedding.
14. Use soft candies for place-card holders!
17. Did you and your partner have an online romance? Make a bouquet from your early love letters!
18. Centerpieces don't have to be complex to have wow.
19. Trade day-of wedding duties with other engaged friends.
21. Not into the idea of a personal shower? Ask for potted flowers to spruce up your wedding day!
22. Check out this unity ceremony with an umbrella and “prosperity mix!”
24. Consider scheduling in some serious down time after your ceremony.
25. If your photog's rad, don't forget to take a photo with them!
26. Who says you've got to eat with everyone else? Have a private dinner alone.
27. Eschew the slippers and sandals: get your guests fuzzy socks to dance in!
29. Photo booths are fun. But have you thought about TATTOO booths?
What offbeat wedding ideas did we miss?
These are just what we think is cool. What offbeat wedding ideas do you think every other engaged person should know about? And if you need even MOAR inspiration, take a waltz through our archives with hundreds of steal-worthy ideas!
The bride and the dress in photo #2 are gorgeous.
ooo – I love the bedazzled dragonfly tattoos. Almost makes me want to get a tattoo…
My sis-in-law did that with her tattoos (of which she has many). There are multi-colored stick-on ‘rhinestones’ that come in sheets for this purpose. They were easy to apply to dry, clean skin BUT for some reason half fell off within the first hour (the others stayed put through the whole reception).
I’m totally stealing the idea should i have managed to commit to my tattoo idea/desire before i get married.
I’d suggest spirit gum (or any other prosthetic make up glue) to make sure they stay in place for at least several hours if not all day.
OMG the SO and I were just talking about who should say their vows first yesterday, and the rock-paper-scissor idea is right up our ally and a WAY better solution to this problem. THANK YOU!
Great tips!
Awe, man, these are all seriously fun! (Steeling ALL of them!)
Just I think these are complete different ideas. Lovely tips from you.
Build your bouquet on the way to the aisle ought to be stolen. This is such a cool idea…and pretty touching as well. you can start with your Dad giving the first flower and finally taking it from your in- laws! Tattoo glitters! Well how can you miss them??
These are awesome.Avery cool idea is to get custom metallic tattoos made for the whole party.the possibilities are limitless and inexpensive!!

A great off beat wedding song is Primrose Hill by Ashton Lane. Written near the famous Abbey Road Studio and for every off beat heart in this crazy world.Enjoy!!!
Fun post…it gave me a lot of inspiration…thanks!!!
I think it depends on the inclination of both bride and groom. Let’s say both are intellectually inclined, maybe they could organize something like handing out puzzles along with the dessert 🙂
Or maybe get everyone playing Truth or Dare…
Big fan of the “not-over-the-top” centerpieces. Centerpieces are not only pricy, sometimes they simply block the guests view from the action happening on the dance floor or sweetheart table.
In the end, you don’t want your centerpieces to steal the show.
This post is really good. Marriage is important in everybody’s life. I really enjoyed going through this article. I hope people will enjoy the same way as I did.
This is one of the best post I have ever read. Cheers!!
