Come travel with me: Walt Whitman wedding reading (+ quotes for vows!)
If travel is important to you and your partner, let these Walt Whitman wedding vows inspire you. These vows include excerpts from the Walt Whitman poem “Song of the Open Road,” plus a reading that’s a mashup of both “Song of the Open Road” and Whitman’s “Song of Myself.”
Red and Julian’s excellent road trip adventure wedding
Taelor (aka Red) and Julian met through their love of vehicles and are members of a low riding truck club called No Regrets that travels across the country. In true No Regrets fashion, they are one big family, and the members of the group came from all parts of the country to see these two get married. Red lives, eats, sleeps, and breathes vintage and all things pin-up while Julian would wear red plaid every day of the week if you let him. Getting married at the historical Packard Proving Grounds really showcased their love for history and vehicles.
Travel through Tatooine, Middle Earth, Westeros & more at this pop culture travel-themed wedding (with April Fools pranks!)
Our geekdom runs deep and we're known to throw themed parties, so settling on a single fandom felt forced for an event of this magnitude. Instead, we decided to put a little bit of everything we love together for a truly unique experience. For a while, though, nothing fit together. Plus, we were annoyed by traditions that felt were “expected.” So, we identified what really mattered: bringing the people we love together and staying true to ourselves.
Then something clicked for our theme: inspired by a wall in our home covered in fictional maps. We chose a Pop Culture Travel theme!
The romantic Glasgow wedding of our kilted fantasies
Christina and Paul wanted a fairly traditional Scottish wedding with a bit of a twist. Think natural touches and a bit of a travel theme. Oh, and everything was seriously GORGEOUS on top of it all. there was lovely greenery, purple touches, and even travel-themed table names on a big map to show everyone where they’ve been (and where to sit, of course).
Don’t miss the HUGE heart-shaped cupcake display! Shall we peek at this Glasgow wedding of our kilted dreams?
A barefoot travel-themed summer camp wedding (with breakfast buffet!)
Caitlinn and Luke were married atop a huge rock in a beautiful, sunny clearing. The day proceeded with happy tears and bare feet. They incorporated their love of travel (especially to Africa) in their decor and theme. Instead of giving away something small as favors, they had glass jars with Beta fish in them next to three different charitable organization’s write-ups. The guests could take a pebble and pick which organization they wished receive a donation in their names.
Postcard escort cards will give your guests wanderlust AND show them to their tables
Courtney and Kelly had one of those travel-themed weddings that gives us chills and the urge to buy plane tickets. Their postcard escort cards were an even bigger invitation to get out of Dodge and start traveling. At least to their table at the reception, at least.
This idea makes me think of a globe guest book (they did that, too!), so it’s a whole package deal with the travel theme.
