Nicole and Katie were married with a Thai Lustral Water Pouring ceremony, also called the Rod-Nam-Sung ceremony. Some of their elders blessed them during the ceremony by pouring holy water that had been blessed by Thai monks onto their hands with a conch shell and whispering well wishes.
But just wait 'til you see this shot…
Their venue was the amazing The Thyme Garden in Alsea, Oregon. It is an organic herb garden and nursery amidst acres of beautiful forest and streams. This photo = wedding porn HEAVEN!
Nicole's dress is actually a bridesmaid's dress that two of her close friends helped her alter into the creation you see above. They made the whole underskirt, starting with a vintage slip and then adding other fabrics. Katie wore a vintage kid's tuxedo jacket from Ebay, accented with a vintage tie and shirt — and you gotta love those bright Chucks! They also both wore a sabai (a Thai tradition) across one shoulder.
The mind-blowing fashion choices didn't stop at their outfits — these mis-matched bridesmaids are flawless.
There was also a LOT of music at this wedding. The brides rocked their wedding and there was singing around a camp fire until three in the morning!
Oh yeah, did I mention it was a camping wedding? Okay, I need to stop gushing.
if nicole and katie are reading this, when you make your profile, can you include some more pictures of that streamer/ribbon thingy behind you during the ceremony (and possibly some text about it)? From that one image, it seems like the kind of thing i’m dreaming of creating, so I’d love to hear more about what you did! (Thanks)
Oh my goodness! This is such a beautiful place! I also love the dress and the alterations made to it. I hope there will be a closer head shot of Nicole’s hair and headpiece and the camping is just too perfect!
WOW, you guys. Just WOW. The colors, the dress, the decor, all of it. I love. I swoon. I crave. And now, I wait patiently. 🙂
I die. I. Die!!!!
I need to know more about those flowing ribbon accents in the background of the first photo. Puh-leeeze! 🙂
ZOMG!! How much do I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress!!!
Please submit soon!
oooh, I’m so excited that you got a hold of them. There are some great pics on here that I didn’t see before and it’s nice to hear the story behind some of the things I was guessing about.
I think I’m having wedding-envy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything you two have going on here…the outfits, the scenery, the camping, the bridesmaids…all of it ROCKS!
O get out of here! This wedding is just insanely beautiful! Blessings to you both 🙂
i have a question about the water ceremony. my fiance and i aren’t exactly religious; we respect and accept all faiths, but i spent a lot of time in thailand as a kid, so my question is this: is there any way i could integrate a ceremony like this without being too religious and without being disrespectful?
That is a gorgeous venue! Also, everything about it is so great! The camping, the colors, the outfits, did I mention the camping?
Beautiful clothes, beautiful location, beautiful photos! Wow!
