Middle-earth came to the Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park in Central California big time. Erin and Shelby (along with their perfectly costumed guests — seriously!) came as elves, hobbits, and the race of men with cloaks and gowns and it was spectacular. Gandalf himself officiated the ceremony among the sequoias.
The Lord of the Rings-inspired decor at the reception of this Middle-earth wedding had scenes from Lord of the Rings, themed candle wraps, Mount Doom(!), and elements of the wilderness. The wedding cake was a three-tier hobbit hole that they cut into with their swords. A lantern lit exit heralded the end of what was surely a killer celebration I’d have died to attend. At least we can see the whole Tolkienesque party right here. Don’t miss the first dance in the mists…
