BIPOC folks have infiltrated Middle Earth, and we’re here to stay, bay-beee! With the recent conversations (er, racist grumpiness) around BIPOC actors in the new Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power show, we’ve put together a few of our favorite Lord of the Rings weddings featuring BIPOC newlyweds!
We love when couples have two weddings! Lyndsay and Patrick had a family-friendly wedding ceremony with a Gordian knot, then a second wedding that was straight up wild in the best of ways. Don’t miss the genius “first karaoke song” as a first dance alternative!
This couple tied in elements of steampunk, Dungeons and Dragons, video games, and tons of their favorite fandoms. This steampunk meets Dungeons and Dragons wedding was a testament to how marriage is a great adventure! After all, no one goes on an adventure alone, you’ve gotta form a party. And what a geeky fun party did they have, indeed!
How many fandoms can you count in this nerdy wedding theme? From Doctor Who to Star Trek, this couple knows how to get their nerd on (spoiler: barrels of homemade mead are involved).
Melanie and Jake had a Elven, Celtic, and Viking inspired wedding with incredible DIY elements. Plus, their wedding party wielded weapons instead of floral bouquets!
The theme was The Nightmare Before Christmas and the general color scheme was white, black, and pink. We did the Tasting of the Four Elements as our ritual and took a celebratory shot after to seal the deal.
