Darcy and Jasper's queer bourbon and beer bacchanal had tons of awesome pour-it-yourself bar moments with delicious selections of bourbon and pre-mixed Old Fashioneds. My favorite part of their booze-y moments was the mid-ceremony toast featuring hot apple cider with optional bourbon.
Here's what Darcy had to say about it:
As guests entered, they were invited to grab a hot apple cider (spiked with bourbon if they wished) which we used in a mid-ceremony toast.
It made for a really sweet moment where everyone could be involved in the ceremony for a little moment that totally fit their theme.
Did you miss this wedding? Now's the time to GO SEE! It's so worth it.
I realize it’s completely missing the point, but I appreciate that you provided the option to have something without alcohol that wasn’t water. A lot of the time with offbeat fancy drinks, the assumption is that everyone likes alcohol and will be happy with it, so as someone who can’t have it (long story), thank you for including regular apple cider as an option.
I officiated a wedding a few years ago where we did this with pumpkin vodka (something the groom had made for the bride early in their relationship). The groomsmen passed trays of shots and we made a l’chaim together.
