Check out Offbeat Bride reader Corinne's hand-drawn wedding maps in the style of J.R.R. Tolkien! Corinne did this herself using tracing paper over an official park map of her wedding location.
I love the maps in Tolkien books, so I just tried to emulate that style. Then I found parchment-style paper at the copy store… I actually didn't know I could do this, but given a sharp pencil and a little bit of tracing paper, there's not a lot I CAN'T do.
Let's hope your guests have an easier time getting to your wedding than Frodo had getting to Mordor!
This is the awesome!
I forgot all about maps!
Yay for maps!
I can't wait to make mine in a fun way!
Great idea, unique! Thanks for sharing..
They're terrific. Love them!
Wow, that is so unique and creative. The maps are done so beautifully.
Oh wow, this is gorgeous! I also love maps, especially old ones, and especially fantasy ones! =) Awesome idea and beautifully done.
You can make parchment like paper yourself! You just need some coffee and normal copying paper. Make very strong coffee and dip the paper in it, and let it dry. If you want it to look really awesome, you can lit the border on fire and let it burn just a little. Be careful with the fire, though!
Oh, forgot to say you can also squeeze the paper into a ball when it's dry and straighten again.
There's an awesome etsy seller I've bought from who makes these too:
