We've seen our share of weddings inspired by the film The Princess Bride, but Kathy and Nathan dropped the ultimate surprise on their families and friends with a 1920s-themed birthday party ruse-turned-wedding! Not many people knew, but one in particular had to be in on the surprise. The officiant was dressed in full “Impressive Clergyman” garb and, naturally, began the ceremony with the famous monologue from The Princess Bride,” “Mawwiage…”. The best part is that they captured the whole ceremony on video.

The whole affair took place in Kathy's sister's living room, with their most near and dear looking on. Jen from Pink Light Images photographed the day and said of the surprise, “No one knew anything! Even grandma was still confused as to what happened when they walked out afer their I do's.”

Everyone got ready for what definitely wasn't just a party. The groom even had a 'best ma'am.'

      • Thank you. It was so much fun planning. We didn’t have anyone else’s input so it was just about us and what we wanted.
