Gloria & Robert’s harmonious wedding of Korean-Canadian traditions
This is a culture clash we LOVE: Western-style table settings with origami cranes as decorations, the bride’s mother-in-law walking down the aisle in her dress alongside her mother in her traditional Korean hanbok, and a bar serving both Canadian beer and Korean soju liquor. We’ve also got two ceremonies (including a tea ceremony), two dresses, and two genres of food. We are twice as down for this wedding.
Star bouquets, ray guns, and a moon landing cake
Trish and Al took the Wayback Machine back to childhood for a wild day playing in the snow, posing with their wedding crew, and of course, getting married! Plus, who can resist a bride in glittery Converse, leg warmers, a cape, hot pink crinoline, and a star bouquet? The reception looked out of control with a space theme including robots, ray guns, astronauts and superheroes (and Doctor Who!) photo booth, and their hilarious moon landing cake. Like their favors said: “it was a blast!”
Nicole & Josh’s eco-friendly camping trip wedding
A midweek morning ceremony with a whole week of campout festivities surrounding it? Sounds fab. This couple was on a mission to keep things as eco-friendly as possible and to undertake any and all DIY projects. Was it a success? You’ll just have to see for yourself. Here’s a hint: hell yes.
Mandy & Jamie’s skulls and roses cottage wedding
I love it when gothic style hits another, totally different element because the result is often a really awesome blend. Think skulls, deep red roses, a coffin card box all in a rustic cottage in a small town. This bride works in the floral industry, so she knew what she didn’t want to do. They both wanted intimate, budget-friendly, and an amazing time.
Lenna & Matt’s big fat traditional Armenian and Japanese wedding
The bride comes from a traditional Armenian background, so her offbeat spirit had a ton to contend with. But somehow these two managed to infuse their concert-going, comics-loving, board game-playing selves into a traditional Armenian Orthodox celebration. Add in the Japanese influences and you’ve got some multicultural mash-ups to rival all others.
Karen & Ian’s swords and boards geek-tacular wedding
You say you want some geek chic in your life? We’re bringing it hardcore with this wedding. Gamers, sword fighters, King Richard VIII, the full Princess Bride ceremony, a D20 that determines who kisses who… it’s fantastic. Put your nerd pants on and check out this kick-ass wedding brought to you in the name of all things geek!
