This small Brooklyn wedding had wine, plants, and a red dress that slayed

Lauren and Andrew did not want a traditional wedding in any sense of the word. Lauren’s vintage-style custom red dress was the first way we can tell that this couple did things their way and it WORKED. They chose to have a small wedding which meant they got to spend quality time with everyone there, a major goal.

We wanted the wedding to have vintage/library feel. Our escort cards were library due date cards and the centerpieces were books on the bottom with a lamp on top from IKEA. We came up with the decoration for everything and kept the tables as exposed woods to bring the vintage feel out — the venue sold itself! Then it was off to New York City Hall for the ceremony in their chic and retro-inspired outfits. That alone is eye candy galore, but it gets even better!

For their reception the next day, it was all about Gatsby bliss for 75 guests at Jing Fong in Chinatown. Think flapper dresses, peacock headpieces, a knockout cake, and delicious dim sum.

Don’t miss the fashion at this colorful queer Caribbean-vibes wedding

On their ninth anniversary, Neish and Tish tied the knot exactly as they wanted to: in a low-key queer-love celebration, full of color and easy-going Caribbean vibes. Hailing from Jamaica and Trinidad, the couple knew their wedding garb had to have a pop of color. The bride’s red wedding dress played off the groom’s red bowtie and pocket square, and in a reversal of tradition, it was the groom who wore head-to-toe white.
