Ring and a date: How to make your own wedding rings with a pre-wedding getaway
The only thing cooler than having someone make a custom wedding ring for you is to make your own wedding rings for yourself. Wait wait — even better — make your own wedding rings for yourself with and for each other!
Our sponsor With These Rings gives you the opportunity for you to make your own wedding bands AND to take a much-needed pre-wedding get-away. Here’s how…
Ring needs resizing? Here’s why you should wait to wear it…
If your engagement or wedding ring needs resizing, there are some good reasons to wait to wear it. As someone who has worked in a chain jewelry store and done a lot of research out of personal interest, I’ve seen some real damage occur when a larger ring is worn before resizing. Letting it flop around and hitting against another ring to keep it in place is both bad for the metal and the stones. It puts it at much more at risk for knocking the stone out, chipping it, or breaking it completely depending on how old the stone is and what kind of inclusions it naturally has.
These wooden rings contain whole tiny worlds!
Looking for a seriously stunning and interesting ring to carry around a teeny tiny world on your finger? Canadian designer Isabell Kiefhaber of Secret Wood is creating wooden rings with resin, beeswax, and other materials to capture wearable little landscapes. They’re both of this world and totally out of this world. You’re going to want to see more of these rings.
Spy the rings below to see absolutely gorgeous scenes of tiny forests, Aurora Borealis-inspired skies, forests, waterfalls, and lagoons. they’re all slightly different since they’re all handmade to order (with a four to five week wait — likely worth it based on these designs!). Let’s ogle the designs and wish they were ours, shall we?
