Jesse & Ben’s potluck backyard hippie handfasting
When you’re in the mood to kick tradition out, this is the celebration to see: a non-legal backyard solstice potluck with a VERY participatory ceremony, personal tattoos instead of rings, and a super sweet memorial for the groom’s father. These adorable hippies knew what they wanted and embraced it full-on. And we get to see it all come together!
A multicultural destination wedding in the mountains
Katie and Gautam traveled from Washington DC to Twin Peaks, California for a destination wedding in the mountains (AND planned it all sight-unseen!). This pair successfully combined his Indian wedding traditions with her American traditions, including gorgeous saris, a flower crown, a candle-lighting ceremony, a tearful father/daughter dance (just try not to choke up!), and a rockin’ dance party with an iPod DJ!
Kim & Cole’s barn and bonfire wedding
We spied this most excellently dressed wedding party recently and were totally hoping to see the full wedding story. Thankfully, Kim and Cole obliged. Get ready for a seriously chic venue with their added DIY fabulousness (like a sweet DIY photo booth and wine cork chandelier!), and two of the most dapper-as-hell brides we’ve ever seen.
Katherine & James’ barefoot eco-friendly forest wedding
This week we’re letting our hair down and getting back to nature in the wild, wild outdoors! Today we’ve got a barefoot couple in the forests of Piccadilly with rainbows, a teepee, and one very fun Kombi. They managed to make it all happen while compromising with a religious family, coaxing a van into carrying a clown car-load, and dealing with a very naughty bird at the ceremony.
