Jessica & Jacob’s low-key ’50s-Style wedding
At first I was like, “I love that dress!” and then I was all, “I love that hat!” And finally I said, “I love this wedding!” 1950s-inspired fashion, a low-key dinner after some geeky vows (Lord of the Rings and Doctor Who included), fun with a piñata, and a bazillion folded cranes — this is a wedding to savor.
Mary & Charles’ crafty roller derby tiki wedding
This destination wedding brings a reluctant to fly Midwest family to San Diego for a tiki-meets-roller derby party with cool DIY details like crocheted bouquets. Things get pretty crazy at the reception with an order to drink more booze and a lady in a chicken hat. It also takes a pretty cool bride to admit her mistake in her advice to other Offbeat Brides.
Laura & Stephen’s retro jazz wedding
We love our retro weddings, and this jazz and vintage-inspired wedding kicks ass. Some of the details included a tattooed and victory-rolled bride (with two dresses!), a groom with an epic ‘stache, and super fun details (like the lollipop bouquets). Though there was a snafu with the first band, the final band rocked the crowd with jazz and swing.
Gillian & Mark’s offbeat lite transatlantic wedding
This wedding packs a visual punch with a gorgeous cathedral in Scotland, awesome kilts, and most amazing sunny day for the UK. The handmade dress (made by the bride’s mother!) is a testament to craftsmanship. Oh, and the gorgeous art deco-inspired cake, and unexpected wedding crashers are worth a look too!
A retro polka-dot cocktail party wedding
Retro dresses, victory rolls, in-ceremony Facebook updates, a pre-ceremony cocktail party, lots of polka-dots, and an impromptu feat of strength on the dance floor: it’s a retro wedding for everyone!
10 bad-ass bespectacled brides (and some grooms in glasses!)
It’s been awhile since we had a collection of brides in spectacles, so I thought it was high time for another look. We definitely get a lot of them in our real life weddings, so we know it’s popular among our Offbeat Brides. Plus, there’s a helping of grooms in glasses too. So put on your glasses so you can see what the hell is going on in this superficial snack of sexy bespectacled brides!
