Maybe you don't want to totally buck tradition, or perhaps you might get a lot of flack for showing up for the wedding in your favorite leather jacket. You can still channel a refined rocker vibe with a few unexpected accessories.
Instead of rocking your leather jacket, you could add leather lapels to your tux jacket, and keep both your parents and your inner bad-ass happy. If you've got a plain, white tuxedo shirt, dress up the neck with a spiked collar pin and adorn the cuffs with skull cuff links. Don't settle for a pair of black oxfords when you can stroll down the aisle in spiked Louboutin loafers.
Get the look:
- DSquared tux jacket
- River Island collar pin
- Shimla cuff links
- Triumph & Disaster face scrub
- Christian Louboutin loafers. (Or for more budget minded studded loafers: The Hellraisers Shoe, JAGGGRR, CROQUETL)
Bad…ass.
So I WAS super exited…until I saw the prices xD Bahaha those shoes alone are half my entire wedding budget!
But I like the ideas 😀 I’ll search for knockoffs!
So right! Luckily, our Copyeditor Caroline is a spiked shoe connoisseur and hooked us up with these budget options:
* The Hellraisers Shoe
* JAGGGRR
* CROQUETL
They’ve also been added to the post!
Seee, that’s much better! 😀
I totally agree, Leslie. Always always always look for alternatives that fit within your budget, and still maintain the overall vibe of the outfit. These pieces are versatile enough to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe and last for years beyond the wedding.
if you are renting a tux or otherwise cannot add leather lapels, adding a leather vest under the jacket adds a layer of interest.
my guy wore leather pants for the wedding – very cool.
Very cool, indeed! Good tip, J XD.
