So you want to collect guest photos, maybe display them somehow at the wedding, and provide a way for guests to take them home as a favor? Any or all of these can be accomplished with this little trick from reader Kassie. She snagged a portable photo printer with wifi which will allowed her guests to snag photos with their phones, print them on the fly, and add them to the glorious display on a big photo wall. I love this idea because you'll get loads of photos, tons of selfies of people in their best finery, and save cash on a photo booth.
Here's how Kassie explained it…
This was our photo wall instead of a photo booth or shoving cameras in peoples faces. People could print photos straight from their phones or cameras for us. We made a little album out of the photos and they are some of my favorite pics!
We got the most amazing candid photos from everybody and got to see what everyone was up to at our cocktail hour. The printers I used are the Canon Selphy printers because they are album quality and super easy to use. People could print via WiFi from their smartphones or straight from an SD card from their camera. After the wedding I used them to print all of our thank you cards onto postcard stock.
You can ask guests to post photos with your wedding hashtag (or whatever specified hashtag you like) and have a designated person print them off from the hashtag on social media! Easy-peasy photo collection.
For a little extra wall collage pizzazz, snag a wall grid display like one of these:
And then for the printer itself, there are tons of options…
Some portable cameras (like this one) support Bluetooth connectivity too, so you guests can connect and print super easily.
