Like all of us who follow famous animals on Instagram, I love seeing your ring dogs, cat save-the-dates, and guinea pig cake toppers. But are there MORE ways to include your pet in the wedding day? I decided to see what was new in the realm of wedding pets. And there was! I saw so many adorable ways to add some pet fur to your day (without wigging them out, of course).
Let's get to the honorable wedding puppers and kittehs (and whatever other animals y'all love!)…
Have them star in your save-the-dates
Jade and Matt had an at-home engagement session that included both their cat and dog. It ended up being adorable. These types of shots would be perfect if you wanted to include your critters in your save-the-dates.
OR have them make the announcement for you…
Cameos in your getting ready shots at home
This pretty kitty helped bride Meredith-Gray pick out which necklace to wear. Plus, it made for some great pre-wedding lovey-dovey shots…
And if you want to give your kitty a role in the wedding, maybe a photo in a little collar at home will give you a keepsake without having to subject him to any outdoor adventures.
Let your dog lead the processional
Whether as ring dog or honored member of the wedding party, a dapper pup always lightens the mood at a ceremony.
Honor your departed loves
You're probably honoring your departed human friends and family, but you can also honor your fur family, too. At their courthouse elopement, Cullie and Chris came up with a subtle way to honor their recently deceased cat: Cullie wore the cat's collar and name tag on her wrist.
Let them rep your signature drinks
Giving your signature cocktail a pet namesake it a surefire way to make endear all your guests to your fave furry friends. I mean, look how cute…
Include them in the decor
Include your pet's breed in some table names, place cards, wedding signage, or wherever!

You can even DIY your own cut-outs with this tutorial.

I love the cameo idea for including your pets in the wedding. Who doesn’t want fun photos with pets!?
To include our precious pup in our destination wedding ceremony, we took a picture of him wearing our rings around his neck, framed it, then tied the rings to the picture. It was passed around during the ceremony for everyone to admire his cuteness and pray/well-wish over our rings!
