Jessica & Robin’s cafe wedding with a musical surprise
A torrential rainstorm couldn’t hold back this couple from their music-loving wedding with a serendipitous second-hand wedding dress find. Oh, and there may have been a huge surprise at the reception involving a band, a full choir, and some American Idiot.
Beth & Garrett’s nerdy boozy musical kickballer wedding
Home-brewed beer (including beer ceremony), an Elvis officiant, a hilarious camp wedding guide, and a cocktail hour with lawn games and merit badges — you’ve just described my perfect camp-out party. Don’t even get us started on the tearful first look, the Sharpie pre-tattoo rings, the dads’ pre-ceremony chest bump, and the time-traveling video invitation. Oh, and there’s one more video that we’re keeping a secret. Trust me, you have to see it.
A girls’ guide to throwing a “surprise musical roast” bachelor party
When you’re a girl and your best friend is a guy, and that guy gets engaged, it just may fall on you to throw the bachelor party. That’s where I found myself a couple months ago. My best friend Erik was getting married and I wanted to throw him a kick-ass bachelor party. One of the groomsman suggested that we throw him surprise musical roast. As Erik, and all his friends, are amazing musicians this was the greatest idea ever. Only… I’ve never been to a bachelor party before, and I’ve certainly never thrown one. I fired off a panicked email to Offbeat Bride sponsor and friend Laura from [vendor-heart link="http://rebelbelleweddings.com/"]Rebel Belle Weddings[/vendor-heart] who helped me pull of the coolest bachelor party/surprise musical roast ever! Here’s how we did it.
A fashionable and musical elopement under a giant oak tree
Oh, to be a sandwich with these people. They are totally gorgeous and had an equally gorgeous elopement under a huge-mongous oak tree in New Orleans. Krysten chose the destination and planned the trip since she loves NOLA, and Chris wrote the ceremony himself. They wanted, in their own words, “simplicity and fiscal solvency,” so eloping just made perfect sense. To get the ceremony under that majestic tree, a little smooth talking was in order with a gruff groundskeeper!
Lynsey & Dominic’s retro musical comic book-ish wedding
A retro look and snazzy suspenders only barely hold back a party of superheroes at this wedding. From the paper flower bouquets made from family heirloom sheet music to the groom’s red cape, this couple really infused their wedding with their favorite things. Follow the bat signal (or the ’50s music) to see more…
Lara & Matt’s mid-summer musical forest wedding
Just a few of the elements of this wedding that I love: the “Just Married” skidder, the pine cone heart, the flash mob belly dance, the accordion accompaniment to the ceremony, the Black Hawk helicopter fly-over, and oh, about a million more things. You might want to check it out to see what I didn’t list.
