Chad and Casey are having a “Harry Potter-esque” wedding. So what better way to introduce their guests to what magical wedding experiences await them than by delivering their Save the Dates via messenger owl!
Okay, well, maybe not exactly, but these owl Save the Dates are the next best thing, wouldn't ya say?
For extra nods to Harry Potter you could always use the the Lumos font or Harry P font for your the Save the Date!
Keep reading to see how you can use this owl template to make your own Harry Potter-themed Save the Dates, or for your table numbers, or shrink it down and use them as seating cards, etc.
Casey explains how she pulled off this owl-tastic invite:
I got this owl from The Graphics Fairy. I love her stuff! She posts all sorts of Vintage Clip Art and Advertisements and such for craft purposes.Simply download the fonts you want to use and save the owl or copy it into a photo editor. Then add whatever text you like in whatever font you like. I did all mine from scratch with Corel Paint Shop Pro X2.
Alternate option to really make a statement: wedding-invitation Howler.
AWESOME idea & great theme! 🙂
Love! Our wedding invitations were actually Harry Potter themed and they were designed to look like little Marauder’s Maps 🙂
Did you include the Marauder’s Map easter egg? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0FDGvp16cw (kinda nsfw)
I had no idea that was there!! How hilarious!
ZOMGGG! Thank you Ariel!
I directed a bride getting married with a similar themed wedding to this post. She loved the idea. Thank you off-beat bride. 🙂
This is great. Could be used in so many creative ways in addition to Save the Dates.
So cool!! Great and magic idea!! I think it’ll surprise the attendants with the invitation cards!!!
We’re planning on putting a white owl (aka Hedwig) on top of our card box at the wedding, so that our guests can deliver the cards to us via owl 😉
LOVE!
Just saying Jamie and Michael..Prefer this to the GOT red wedding scene! Anyway got to go now. Laura
Great idea for a save-the-date, especially for the Harry Potter fans among us. And really, if someone is NOT an HP fan do you even want them at your wedding? 😉
