Monday Montage: owls, thumbs, and swords OH MY!

Posted by

In an attempt to brighten up a typically bleak monday I present to you another edition of the Monday Montage. It was difficult to chose which pictures I wanted to feature from the Offbeat Bride Flickr pool this week as there are so many exciting photos these days. This week we have a few furry friends, an epic thumb war and a steam-punk engagement shoot on a train! REMINDER, you can always click on a photo to see more!
Brian&JoanneWedding (187)-2
Joanne finally got her gothic fairytale ending when she met Brian. The two got married in a castle in Durham, England. She got to wear a firey scarlet red dress. And the couple had an barn owl named Ollie in attendance…

And it gets better!! Ollie, the owl stole the show when he flew down the aisle to the theme from Harry Potter, and delivered the wedding rings to Joanne's six year old son.

Posing on the bridge
I like what's happening in this photo. Dulcie and Nels got married in an airplane hangar. In this photo they are posing on High Level Bridge.

Sarah and her future hubby had an old time-y engagement shoot on a train.

THUMB WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One… two… three… four… I declare this the epic-est of wedding thumb wars. Not sure who won but Jax and Andy look like they sure had fun.

hyrax2
Annie and Johnny got married at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. The got married on a site overlooking the lagoon filled with wild birds. They even had a few surprise visitors drop by the reception. That lovely fur shrug that Annie is wearing is actually a cute little animal called a Hyrax. OMG I die!!

stab Annie and Johnny met on the same fencing team. So in addition to having a Maid of Honor and a Best Man, they had an honor guard of swords. On guard.

  1. Omg, that owl is so full of win. FH just freaked out (in a good way) when I read that to him. 🙂

  2. We’ve thought about getting married at the Wild Animal Park… we’re members and go there regularly. Hyraxes are awesome… though they always look like they want to bite your face off. :> There are some baby hyraxes at the zoo right now and even they look fierce.

  3. This was an awesome surprise to wake up to! I’m glad you had the link to Amber’s site, she’s fantastic.

  4. This is the first time I’ve felt really inspired in a long time! That photo! That Dress! THE OWL !! *runs off to do more wedding planning*

  5. more about the owl! pleeeessseee!!! *down on knees begging for more owley preciousness*
