Maria and Sito wanted to celebrate 10 years of dating with an unofficial non-wedding rite with all their loved ones in Madrid, Spain. They didn't want any official protocol, so they decided on a “ten years on fire” theme. This meant, of course, fire dancers, fire rituals, and a focus on reuse of materials for the decor. DIY was the order of the day! Let's relish in their joy.

Oh wow, this is gorgeous. So many brilliant ideas- I especially love getting all the guests to add a candle to the chicken-wire heart which they then lit on fire. Beautiful.
I’m fairly certain those are little scrolls of well wishes that the guests wrote, rather than candles. But I like the candle idea too!
I really wish more information accompanied these images. I’d love to know more about the fire rituals, their significance, etc. How does one pull off a non-wedding? Is it just a fabulous anniversary party? How do their families feel about it? That said- this looks like an amazing party and the couple look sublimely happy.
I need to use this idea. Surely Family can deal with it when it’s called a NON-wedding…
