Start off your ceremony with a band of bell ringers

kids ringing in the ceremony

Melaina and Nick love kids and decided to have a merry little band to get the ceremony started: “ringing bearers!” We're obviously big fans of this concept, and these two knocked it out of the park with colorful bells with handles.

But this adorable endeavor was not without its precautions:

Shortly before the ceremony, my sister cautioned me that we may be hearing the bells before and DURING the entire ceremony. I could immediately imagine trying to say “I do” over top of a cacophony of bells. Fortunately, a cousin agreed to hand out and collect the bells right before and right after the kids' performance and it worked out beautifully.

  1. This is EXACTLY what we are doing. I think it’s even the same brand of bells… oh well, great minds think alike. 🙂

  2. Ohmegosh this totally falls under the category of “why didn’t I think of that?” If I hadn’t already made the ring bearer’s pillow and hand cut confetti for the girls to toss, I would totally do this. This is a wonderful way to include all the children at the wedding, too!

  3. We will be doing the same bell ringing with the same bells – only with 16 kids related to the bride and groom! To avoid the problem of bells during the service, the kids will put the bells in a basket held by the maid of honor at the front of the church and then turn to their uncle (the groom) for a sweet treat from his pocket. Last of all they will return to the seats with their families……… pictures to follow!
