Did OBT member JennyLynne create the ultimate wedding invitations for iPhone fanboys (like moi)? I would say omg yes! Check 'em out…
When we got an iPhone plan together, we joked that it was a bigger commitment than a marriage license. OK, maybe that's not even so much a joke. It's actually pretty true. It's something I pondered about long and hard.
Anyway, that's what led this proposal (followed up by him showing up at my door by surprise with the ring and Skittles, of course)…
I'd been planning ideas for weddings/invitations/etc. in my head for a long time, of course, but with his proposal it brought forth many more ideas. One being to use his proposal as a part of the invitation. And from that, this invitation form was born:
I decided against making this the entire invitation, though. Didn't want to confuse Grandma. But I did want to incorporate it, since it's our own little inside joke about sharing an iPhone plan being when our relationship really became “serious.” I came up with something a little more classic looking for the main part of the invitation (I'm a graphic designer and wanted to save money doing this myself) and decided to include both the text invite I pieced together and his proposal text on the back. For the border of the main invitation I drew a swirly design in Adobe Illustrator using the pen tool. FH has a great printer at home and everything came out better than I expected.
Everything was printed/glued on black and cream cardstock that I got at Staples (black is 5×7, main invite is 4×6, size A7 envelope). Including envelopes, overall I have spent $30 on these. Cutting and pasting was tedious, though, so for our 240ish reception invitees I'm thinking we'll need something simpler, maybe just a two-sided card and send them to a printer.

That is SO cute and funny 🙂 !! Love it.
You need to save copies of those invites to show your grandkids! Remind them of the “good ole’ days” of iPhones 🙂 . Tee hee.
