Our Indian Wells wedding at a glance:

We’re Canadian and hadn’t traveled since the beginning of the pandemic. We had previously postponed our 2020 wedding just 26 days before it was to take place.

12 members of our friends and family all stayed at the gorgeous and stunning Sands Hotel and Spa, which also served as our wedding venue – we honestly didn't need any decorations because the hotel’s unique character and beauty were enough! Intimate and over the top all at once.

Our nail artist replicated our cake design, complete with gold foil and little pearls!

I wanted Chris to feel special and pampered too, so I arranged for a stylist to come to give Chris the haircut to end all haircuts.

Our officiant pulled double duty by also creating my beautiful bouquet!

Our Indian Wells wedding ceremony:

We kept our ceremony very short and sweet! My husband didn’t want to do our own vows because he was certain he'd end up a blubbering mess.

I surprised him with a horseshoe ring, because True Romance is one of our fave movies. I told him “I promise to be your Alabama if you promise to be my Clarence.“

After we kissed, our musician Durell sang “Happy” by Pharrell!

Our Indian Wells wedding reception:

Our reception was pretty chill but very beautiful! We had an intimate dinner at the Pink Cabana, the gorgeous and stunning restaurant at The Sands Hotel and Spa.

The musician we hired – Durell Anthony – had driven all the way from San Diego for us. He even put an R&B twist on our first dance song, Nothing Else Matters by Metallica!

What was the most important lesson you learned from your wedding?

Do your best to be in the moment!
