There are so many reasons people love Halloween–the witchy vibes, Pagan traditions, horror movie themes, and goth aesthetics. We found it especially endearing when Offbeat Wed vendor Sightglass Photography photographed Matthew and Karissa's Halloween wedding and told us these Halloween enthusiasts loved the corny and kitschy parts of the holiday! You know, the cute decorations of ghosts and black cats, candy everywhere. Kinda like Halloween from when we were kids. We're already huge suckers for a Halloween wedding, but we were extra excited when we learned the wedding venue was at a casino. Even better? Matthew and Karissa had a board game reception! And if you weren't excited enough, the kids wore David S. Pumpkins suits from the infamous SNL sketch starring Tom Hanks.

Matthew and Karissa were together for 7 years before they got married. They love playing Dungeons and Dragons, board games, dressing up for Halloween, and spending quality time with their loved ones! They had their hearts set on a wedding in Lincoln City, Oregon. It was their favorite place to visit, but they also wanted to have a fun place to go for their anniversary.

The jack-o-lantern suits make us think of David S. Pumpkin from SNL. Wait a second…Those ARE the suits from David S. Pumpkins!!! The idea of having a bunch of little David S. Pumpkins running around a wedding is truly delightful. And look at that happy bright green witch!

Matthew and Karissa wanted to main focus to be about having fun and celebrating with they people they love. They chose not to do vows, give anyone away, or throw bouquets. They literally just wanted to party. The ceremony was basically “Do you want to marry each other? Yes. Kiss. It's done.”

Karissa and Matthew had a board game table at their Halloween wedding reception. They were quite tickled that people actually used and enjoyed the board game table all night long. The board game table idea is also a great alternative for wedding guests who aren't into dancing or just want a minute to decompress and rest their feet for a sec.
