Some brides choose to make their bouquets out of brooches or buttons. Some are classicists — flowers, the kind that really lived in the ground once. Some lovingly craft their flowers out of paper. Me? I prefer my bouquet to be capable of inflicting blunt force trauma. That right there is seven pounds of bridal awesomeness, hand-forged out of motherfucking iron.

Give olive oil as favors (and use as centerpiece)

It’s pretty fantastic when wedding favors serve multiple purposes: in this case, Talia and Charles used these bottles of olive oil as centerpieces and gifted them to wedding guests at the end of the night. No dealing with the ol’ “what do we do with the centerpieces?” wedding saga, AND your invitees get to go home with something they can cook with.

Play a game to pick your witnesses at random

Each guest (of appropriate age) received a Bingo card in a sealed envelope. When we came to the signing of the registry, the guests were instructed to open their envelopes and we rolled out a Bingo cage. The two winners of our Bingo draw got to be our witnesses… and took home a lovely engraved toaster!
