Are you into succulents and want them to last forever and ever and ever? I've got a DIY project for super easy felt succulents to make into a bouquet, as your centerpiece, and even as a headpiece! Once these felt succulents are made, you can attach them to almost anything for a super fun and rustic vibe.
Shall we learn how to make them? Let's go!

How to make DIY felt succulents:

What you'll need:
Squares of felt in your chosen colors
Hot glue gun
Sharp fabric scissors (like these!)
Optional:
Fabric wire
Styrofoam ball (if making a bouquet)
Pinking shears to make textured edges (like these!)

How to assemble the felt succulents
- Cut a piece of felt about 1×2 inches. Roll it into a tight tube and glue the bottom edge to create the flower center.
- Cut additional felt squares of felt in 2-3 sizes (size depends on your desired flower size, but I used 1-inch squares, 1.5-inch squares, and 2-inch squares. Make them as large as you like!
- Cut the felt squares into any petal shape you like: rounded, triangular, a patterned edge with pinking shears, etc. The bottom edge can just be straight.
- Starting with the smaller petals, put a line of hot glue on the bottom edge and glue it onto the center felt roll. Keep gluing petals, overlapping each edge slightly.
- Keep going with larger petals as you make the flowers bigger. For a small flower, I used about six smaller petals and 12 larger petals total.

Once dried, you can use them in lots of ways:
- Felt succulent bouquet: take a loop of flower wire, insert it into the bottom of each succulent and push them into a styrofoam ball to create a bouquet. Feel free to intermingle fabric flowers, real flowers, brooches, or other trinkets to make the bouquet your own style. They also TOTALLY work for boutonnieres.
- Felt succulent fascinator or flower crown: Using a headband (hard or stretchy), either glue the base of each succulent to the headband, or attach using safety pins or floral wire (as shown on me below!). Here's a great tutorial for making a flower crown to help you out.
- Felt succulent table centerpieces: This is where it gets totally free. Layer them on some logs or into terrariums for a rustic-chic table centerpiece. They are SUPER versatile.

Best part? You get to keep them forever and integrate them into your home decor. Aw yiss.

Thank you!! This looks exactly like the craft I need for our centerpieces.
I’ve just made the decision on how to theme our holiday presents this year. We could use a dose of desert in our cold mountain winter by then too. Thanks!
Such a good idea!
Very nice! Thank you for your post.
