I was wandering through Offbeat Bride's Doctor Who weddings when I came across Emma and Brian's take on a geeky wedding ceremony. The couple performed their handfasting to a reading modeled after the Doctor Who episode “The Wedding of River Song”. Naturally, they used a bow tie for the handfasting cord! Because, as we all know…
Now, I know we've got some Offbeat Brides out there planning their very own Doctor Who wedding. If you're also planning on a handfasting, consider this part of your ceremony handled.

Although the bow tie came to mind for our Who-themed nuptials next year, my future mother-in-law is knitting us a super-skinny version of the fourth Doctor’s scarf for our handfasting. I am entirely too excited for this one little aspect, but I don’t care; it’s awesome! 😀
