Comments on Bouquet made from vintage brooches and baubles

  1. I LOVE THIS.
i would carry this around everyday. Nevermind the wedding, i NEED this.

  2. WOW, gorgeous! And what an awesome way to use your mother's and grandmother's brooches?

  3. WOW! I was thinking of incorporating brooches into my bouquet (felt flowers and buttons) and now I'm definitely going to have to do it!
    This is absolutely amazing.

  4. Any idea on how I would make one of these? My great-grandma, my mom, and I have enough brooches to make like 5 of these suckers but I can't afford to have one made and my mind is boggled trying to determine how to make one myself!

  5. Hi everybody, thanks so much for all the wonderful comments. Making this bouquet was a labor of love…As for making one on your own(which no florist wants to hear) it takes lots of wire and taping. I suggest you start practicing a good 8-10 months before the wedding, it's a skill to learn. You will also need to curb the frustration when putting it together – keep at it. Good luck!

  6. Gorgeous! I love creative bouquets that are not traditionally….bouquet-ish. And I think it would be a beautiful piece to display in your home as art too!

  7. WOW! That is so gorgeous! there's been times on this site when I've thought… "hey she stole my idea" (obviously not true, just some fantastically like-minded ladies in this big ol' world) but this time it's me who wants to steal this idea. Already have a ton of brooches. Note to self buy LOTS of wire & tape. That bouquet in NOT for tossin!

  8. I AGREE!, amanda also made my brooch bouquet and it was amazing! i fell in love with it the second i saw it shes making one for my sisters wedding right now

  9. When my grandmother died a few years ago, I asked for all her costume jewelry that I used to play with as a child. I now know what to do with them, and how to incorperate her memory into my wedding in a meaningful way. I cannot thank you enough for this!!!

  10. wow. I think I found my bouquet! Any ideas for the boutonnieres though? Will it look silly if I give each of the groomsmen a brooch to pin on? Is it possible to find manly brooches?

  11. A couple months ago a client was telling me about this idea. I’ve had SO much trouble finding images so I can explain to people! I’m absolutely going to try and pull it off by November 🙂

  12. I saw this post & it was the answer to my problem – how to find flowers that wouldn’t break the budget & how to incorporate rings that had been handed down that I couldn’t wear. I’ve asked all my friends & family to contribute pieces and am blogging about each as they arrive. The stories will be as much a keepsake as the bouquet! http://mybridalbouquet.wordpress.com/ Thanks for the inspiration!!

  13. I made one for my wedding! Using 16 gauge flower stem wire and masking tape. I had left over brooches because I over estimated how many I would need for my own. I made two more bouquets. One is on eBay right now, I haven’t listed the other one yet because I am curious how this will do. Take a look if you’re interested:

Collecting the brooches is the hard part, making the bouquet isn’t that bad. Good luck!

  14. Where did you get these types of brooches from ive been looking everywhere for them!!!

  15. I got the brooches for mine from Etsy, EBay and flea markets. You will get the best deals at the flea market.
