I think I can safely say that we've featured a lot of amazing jewelry sponsors over the years, but this is the first time we've featured a jewelry designing team like this: Arabesque is the creative partnership of silversmith Joshua Haiman and writer/illustrator Holly DeFount.
Their first official collaboration was their own wedding rings! Now they have over three decades of experience in fine art and jewelry design. They specialize in bespoke wedding sets, featuring unique banded meteorite, inlaid wood, custom carved designs, PLUS historically inspired jewelry for cosplayers and re-enactors. Or as they put it: “We make one of a kind statement pieces with an elegant, eclectic emphasis on art, history, and magic.”
How nifty is that!?
But they don't stop at ring design, Arabesque also makes necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, and can even hook you up with the coolest toasting flutes ever. Check this out…
Arabesque's commitment to sustainable jewelry and mining practices runs deep, y'all. All their jewelry is created from recycled, or responsibly sourced, materials whenever possible. Joshua and Holly go so far as to forge actual relationships with ecologically and socially conscious suppliers so that they can stay informed on fair mining and trading practices in the industry. Joshua is also a member and volunteer coordinator of Ethical Metalsmiths — a non-profit organization focused on responsible mining, sustainable economic development and verified, ethical sources of materials used in making jewelry.
Californian's, you're in luck because you can totally see Arabesque's work live and in person via their exhibits in two galleries in the Berkeley area: ACCI Gallery and Abrams Claghorn Gallery. For those that aren't local, you'll just have to virtually bring your particular brand of elegant and eclectic art, history, and magic over here to Arabesque.
Oh, but didn't I mention something about the coolest toasting flutes ever? Yes. Arabesque is open to doing custom accessories and even one-of-a-kind silver sculptures for wedding day ceremonies or wedding party gifts. For example, they designed and forged these silver rose and oak vine wine goblets for a couple's 25th anniversary gift to themselves. D'awww. But YOU shouldn't wait 25 years to get your hands on Arabesque's beautiful work. Wether it's your eco-friendly rings, your perfect cosplay wedding accessories, or the coolest toasting flutes of all time, get in contact and start scheeming with Arabesque right now!
