So you're heading to a bachelorette party (or if you're using gender neutral terms, a bachelorx party). I'm going to tell you right now, this is not one of those bachelorette posts that suggests bullshit “essentials” like little goodies and funny straws. If this is your first rodeo and you're wondering “What do you need for a bachelorette party?” let me be the first to say things like a personalized gift or tchotskies from Party City fall under nice to have.
I was not put on this earth to tell you about these nice to haves, ok? I'm giving you MUST-have, fail-proof recommendations to create the bachelorette survival kit for brides, nearlyweds, and wedding parties that has gotten me through multiple final flings before the rings.
This, my friends, is the godfather of bachelorette party kits and you'll be wondering how you've ever attended bachelorettes without it.
What do you need for a bachelorette party?
Nippies
Where my bra-haters at? These sticky silicon nipple covers are a must-have for every bachelorette party survival kit, especially when you've packed multiple outfits that just look better without a bra showing! They blend seamlessly into your outfit unlike those annoying paper petal pasties, they're re-usable, plus they come in all different skin tones! If you're a bride or soonlywed wearing almost see-through white, they blend everything together so your areolas aren't apparent (love that alliteration, baby!). I've worn them beneath thin material and they come in clutch every freaking time. Do not sleep on these Nippies!
Ododos Yoga Pants with POCKETS!
I pack a pair of Ododos for every bachelorette party I go on. They're like yoga pants with a magical twist…Mother-fuggin DEEP POCKETS. A Buzzfeed article once claimed they could fit an entire champagne bottle in the pocket. Let me tell you, I tested it and it worked. I've put everything in here from my phone to car keys to a bottle of water and even wine bottles (sometimes you just gotta take a wine bottle with you, ok?) and THEY FIT. These pants are my go-to when I need to be hands-free and comfy, like traveling at the airport with multiple bags, going on a bachelorette party hike, or those bachelorette hangover brunch days where you don't have the energy to carry a purse. I have a pair in every length (capris, long pants, and biker shorts) and in multiple different colors!
Pop Socket PopWallet to hold your ID and credit cards!
How many bachelorette parties have you been to where someone loses a purse or a wallet? With a PopWallet, you can keep your ID and important cards in one place. Take it from me, I'm a (former) purse girl. I bought a PopWallet for a bachelorette party at a theme park because I didn't want to deal with checking a bag into a locker every time I went on a ride. I loved being hands-free so much that I now rarely leave the house with a purse anymore! Bonus points, you can skip bringing a bag entirely and simply stick your phone with your PopWallet into your Ododos pants pockets. This is what they call working smarter, not harder, friends!
Hangover pills
This is a bachelorette survival kit MUST HAVE. I bought the Flyby Recovery Pills for my own bachelorette party and I sweatergot this shit WORKED. What you do is take 3 pills with food and water before you go out for a drunken rager. Then after you get home from a night on the town, you take another 3 pills.
The next morning? A fucking WHISPER of a headache that easily went away with a pain reliever. No more sleeping by the toilet in case you vomit. No more hanging back at the Airbnb because your head feels like someone stuck a knife through your brain.
Listen to me, the night of my bachelorette party I was mixing liquors like my liver didn't exist. The next morning I BARELY had a hangover or a headache. If you know your bachelorette party is going to drink a ton, these pills need to be in your recovery kit. But obvi, be smart and safe about drinking and stay hydrated. These aren't miracle pills, but they're pretty damn close.
An oversized long-sleeved button-down shirt
If you get cold easily, a long-sleeved button-down shirt needs to be part of your bachelorette survival kit. Sometimes having a bulky sweater just isn't a cute look when you're out with the bachelorette party. Behold, the oversized button down long sleeved shirt.
It's lightweight, you can tie it around your waist for fashion purposes, and when you suddenly find yourself stuck under the blasting AC at an IHOP at 4 in the morning, you've got something to keep you warm.
What goes into a bachelorette recovery kit?
Now that I've told you my bachelorette survival kit secrets, we need to go back to basics for a bit. These items might seem like a no-brainer, but I need to reiterate that you will be mad at yourself if you don't have any of these on hand or in your bachelorette recovery bag.
- Pain relievers, both Advil or Tylenol. We once only had ibuprofen when someone was in dire need of acetaminophen and it was bad news bears.
- Shades – I've been in situations where I needed sunglasses and didn't have them, so I put a jacket over my head to shield my eyes and was called E.T. Don't be like me.
- Lip balm to keep those luscious lips moisturized. Bring two of 'em in case you lose one.
- Travel sized hand sanitizer
- Band-aids
- Reusable bottle of water – Party hard and save the environment? Yes plz. This one has motivational quotes!
- Accessories like a hair tie and bobby pins. No, you didn't pack enough and yes, you need to bring more. Here's a pack of 60.
- Hat – I don't care if you're not a hat person, you better protect your face from the sun. Here's a baseball hat you've seen me wear in a lot of my reels. And if you're having a beach bachelorette party, don't sleep on this sun hat.
- Sunscreen – For my friends with melanin, I use Neogen, a Korean sunscreen. No crazy white cast, it smells great, and I like it so much I use it as a moisturizer.
And that's my tried and true survival kit for bachelorette parties! What other essential bachelorette party items am I missing from this list? Tell us what came in clutch for you in the comments below.
