Offer wedding hankies for crybaby guests
Danni and Zach’s wedding was full of cute lil DIY bits, but I rrrreeeeaaaaalllyy loved the dish they set out with wedding hankies for their teary-eyed guests. Is it the blue glass jar? The handwritten tag with lacy edge? The promise of actual cloth hankies inside, of which I am a very huge fan? I DON’T KNOW, but I love the whole damn thing.
All the single ladies? Nah. Have a co-ed bouquet toss
I am crushing hard on Susan and Jana‘s take on a bouquet toss. They gathered aaaalll the single hotties to the floor, not just the ladies!
And, as if a coed bouquet toss wasn’t cool enough, Susan and Jana rigged up a nifty lil prize for the winner of the toss.
This is what happens when two park rangers get married in Maine’s fall colorsplosion
How perfect is a crisp autumn day in Maine for a park ranger wedding? Josh and Toni are both national park rangers, and they managed to score near-peak fall color for their wedding in Maine last October.
I’ve got a couple things here I really want you all to notice. First, let’s talk about those adorable pinecone cake toppers. This is a DIY no-brainer right here. The pinecones are even wearing tiny little ranger hats, areyoukiddingme!
See Vader kiss a stormtrooper at this Star Wars beach wedding
Years ago, Joey met Kiara in Hong Kong, they’re currently living in New York, and they decided to say their vows in the Florida Keys last June. Whew! These world travelers wanted to keep things pretty simple… you know, a classic dress, a great suit, just a casual destination wedding in sunny weather. But you can’t keep offbeat down, and Joey and Kiara sneaked some geek into their classy elopement with a Star Wars beach wedding!
Show solidarity with your wedding posse with temporary tattoos
A couple of tattoos at Sandra-Lee and Conrad’s wedding caught my eye and kabwoosh this awesome idea just fell into my brain. Temporary tattoos for your wedding party people. I love the idea of showing solidarity with your crew on your wedding day — who couldn’t use a little bit of extra support feels that day, right? Whether you want to let people know this is my best man, my sister, my brother, my partner in crime, whatever, there are a bazillion places to get customary temporary tattoos.
You may now kiss each other
Every once in a while, a couple comes up with a wedding alternative I’ve just never thought of before. Lo and behold, Dagny and Charlie came up with this super simple twist to a traditional ceremony script:
“It was also important to me that our first kiss as a married couple was something that both of us entered into. Traditionally, people say, ‘You may now kiss the bride.’ We opted instead for, ‘You may now kiss each other.’ For many, it seemed like a silly, small thing, but for me it was a big deal.”
