Show off your fancy footwork with barefoot sandals
Ever since I saw the handmade barefoot sandals from Ashley and Oliver’s wedding on the dunes, they kept creeping around my brain. Ashley and her bridesmaids used them for easy walking on the beach during the ceremony, which makes total sense. But you can actually use these to embellish a pair of plain sandals or shoes too since they are essentially just foot jewelry. I had to investigate what was out there and if these can be easily DIYed.
A sun-filled same-sex Jewish wedding with an eco-friendly mindset
With an eye for using local businesses and salvaged materials, we already like this wedding. But add in two gorgeous ladies, a fabulous spring day at Joaquin Miller Park, and a personalized chuppah, and I am in! Don’t miss the matching purple flats and bookish details too.
Turn inexpensive paper lanterns into swanky decor
Paper lanterns rock as wedding decor. But sometimes you just want to make them your own. Here’s a tutorial for adding paper flowers to an inexpensive paper lantern.
Pink boots, mustache flasks, and one killer comic save-the-date
Tribe member Deloreangrrl’s groom and his friend made this save-the-date comic strip from an old Batman comic for their Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. And these were emailed to save on postage and to be kind to the earth. This, among many other excellent photos of boots, kilts, flasks, dresses, awesome ink, and a circus tent piñata, came from our reader submissions. I love it when the Tribe, the Offbeat Flickr Pool, and the Offbeat Bride Pinterest account come though for us with this kind of eye candy.
