Once in a great while, celebrities take the offbeat road and we get to see fun alternatives like Mark Zuckerberg's backyard surprise wedding that caught us off guard with its fabulous simplicity.
But on the other end of the spectrum, one of our amazing and talented vendors, Laura of Rebel Belle Weddings sent us this heart-stopping seafoam circus wedding from none other than actor, comedian, producer, writer, singer, dancer, candlestick-maker Dick Van Dyke, and his bride, Arlene Silver-Van Dyke.
Prepare yourself for contortionists, jugglers, a circus barker (with giant tentacle hat, natch), gobs of feathers, hula hoops, faux dancing bears, electric jellyfish, an epic first duet, and the cutest darn couple this side of unda da sea!
Queue the bride's entrance, to “Roustabout” by Beats Antique.

The pair's friend Bryan (and Dick's co-performer in their a capella singing group, The Vantastix) officiated.
Watch the hilarious “first duet”: singing “Old Fashioned Wedding” from Annie Get Your Gun (with both of them sounding totally era-appropriate):
Here's one more vid, this time of the bride's brother's toast, which includes references to the invitation's glitter bomb, the duds she dated before Dick, and even a Chuck Norris reference:
Oh, just a couple of electric jellyfish busting it out.
For any of you planning a theme similar to this gorgeous madness, check out Arlene's Pinterest inspiration board, which is basically the Holy Grail of vintage nautical circus pastel undersea whimsy.

You were a beautiful bride and I had the same clutch for my Vegas wedding!!
Your wedding looked amazing and you both look so happy! That’s wonderful! 🙂
Wow wow wow
I love Dick Van Dyke and his brides awesome idea of a wedding.
I would have loved to be a guest at such a fun and extravagant day.
The best of luck and love to the pair of them!
Congratulations Arlene and Dick. Dick, you are a true comic genius and one of my boyhood idols (and you continue to be). Not only that, you look GREAT. Much happiness to you both!!
Dude, I KNEW Dick Van Dyke was fucking cool, but I didn’t know he was that. fucking. cool.
I hereby declare this celeb wedding to be the best one ever! (next to Mr. Zuckerberg’s nuptials of course 🙂 )
One of my favorite song and dance men…and one of my first childhood crushes! It’s so good to see him so happy. Congratulations to the seafoam bride and groom!
I scrolled past and went “That’s funny, a groom with the same name as Dick Van Dyke. Wait, wait *scrolls back up* ZOMG, NO WAY! *fan girl squeal*”
What a hoot! What fun! What joy to see Dick van Dyke, one of my absolute favorites of all time, look so happy. That “first duet” was priceless 🙂 Congratulations and many, many years of happiness to the two of you!
This might, just possibly, be the best offbeat wedding ever.
I mean. We throw some rocking good parties around here, but you got a first dance alternative, octopi, circus, underwater, jellyfish, acrobats, nonfloral centerpieces, smores bar, and hoola hoops. It has all the must have elements lol.
I love it. Congratulations to the happy couple and I hope they enjoy their lives together 🙂
Wow! Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love him any more! Best wishes to the adorable couple!
Loved the shoes—it proves you don’t need glass slippers to find your Prince!
Awesome, magical, beautiful. I’m so jealous!! Always loved Dick van Dyke, its so cool to see him have such a special day and how adorable he is with Arlene.
WoW – this just made my day. How cool is all of this and the duet was priceless. Brilliant. Love the colours and the octopus. I 2nd how cool DVD is to have a wedding like this and the pic with the shoes is so sweet.
Best Wishes to you both.
Ha!
The juggler? He’s one of my cirque school instructors!
I love how DVD is in his 80s and still finds a way to exude such youthful whimsy!
Dick Van Dyke is from my hometown of Danville, IL, so we like to claim him as our own. 🙂 I’m so glad he has found happiness, and he and Arlene seem like a wonderful couple. Beautiful wedding. Congrats!
Wow! How did I miss seeing this one? So good! I grew up watching reruns of the Dick Van Dyke show…so fun to see this. The third photo is priceless. What a lovely pair.
Incredible! I love the fantasy and spectacle! i wish there was more photos of the bride and groom!!
ZOMGG! *That* is what I call a celebration of love!!!!!! <3
Wow! I mean I knew the guy was cool, but not THAT cool… Thanks for sharing, this made my day!
Stunningly beautiful! The colour matches Dicks blue eyes! I’ve always had a thing for carousel horses ever since I was a little girl. Thank you for sharing.
This is kind of blowing my mind right now because *our* wedding is Mary Poppins themed, which of course Dick Van Dyke starred in, and *we* have a carousel horse too!!!
How awesome would it have been to attend this wedding. Looks like they pulled out all the stops! I love the color seafoam and the pictures really bring out the color.
