Healey and Allie were planning a 100-person Washington, DC wedding in the spring, but as they got deeper into wedding planning, they realized how miserable it was making them. They knew that bigger weddings were right for some people, but for them, it was all about a gorgeous Virginia mountain elopement.
Their ceremony was held on a fall day with a mountain backdrop, near Shenandoah National Park, one of their favorite places to which to get away. After the ceremony, they had dinner together at The Inn at Little Washington, a world-renowned restaurant in Washington, VA. Their parents, who live 600 miles apart and had not yet met in person, coordinated over the phone to surprise them with a gift certificate when we arrived at our table. After that, they noshed on Costco vanilla sheet cake.
Our favorite part? The pair splurged on some beautiful, custom holiday cards that doubled as an official wedding announcement. On it, they included their favorite quote from Justice Kennedy's opinion on the marriage equality decision. So much love.
