Corrie and Renie had one of the sweetest weddings at Heavenly Pond, a hidden gem in LA's Franklin Canyon Park. There's just so much LOVE here: everything from the happy, vibrant guests to the sun streaming down during the ceremony is a little bit divine.

When it comes to weddings, there is a certain pressure to fit into a silk-and-sequins box. But for this couple, the goal wasn’t to fit in—it was to stand out in the most comfortable, lived-in way possible. Set against a lush, sun-dappled backdrop, this celebration traded traditional tuxes for dark denim and stuffy ballrooms for the open air.
If you have been looking for permission to wear your favorite pair of jeans to your own wedding, consider this your official green light.
The Look: Indigo Sophistication
Forget the floor-length gowns. This wedding was a masterclass in elevated casual. The couple donned matching navy blazers, crisp button-downs, and perfectly fitted denim. The details tied it all together: a crochet headwrap, classic pearls, and whimsical boutonnieres that felt plucked straight from the surrounding woods.
The footwear followed suit with vintage-inspired oxfords and wingtips, proving that you can absolutely walk down the aisle—or a dirt path—in style without a single stiletto in sight.

The Decor: A Love Letter to the Past
The aesthetic was less Pinterest-perfect and more curated-clutter-chic. The couple leaned heavily into vintage analog vibes to create an interactive experience for their guests:
- The Guestbook Station: A classic Underwood typewriter sat ready for guests to clack out their well-wishes.
- The Soundtrack: A vintage gramophone stood nearby, adding a sepia-toned soul to the outdoor setting.
- A Family Touch: Hand-lettered chalkboards shared the history of the linens and honored family members, like a sweet nod to a beloved Bubby whose presence was felt through her lace collection.
The Ceremony: Circular and Sacred
The ceremony space was stripped back to the essentials. Instead of ornate arches, the couple stood within a simple heart-shaped ring of stones on the earth. It was a grounded, literal circle of love that kept the focus entirely on the laughter and the vows being exchanged.

The Menu: Rustic Refinement
The food was just as thoughtfully curated as the outfits. The spread featured a mix of savory, high-concept bites served on wooden blocks and lace runners:
- Shaved Prosciutto with balsamic fig jam and ricotta in puff pastry.
- Chicken Confit with fig jam and walnut.
- The Fetaterranean: A vibrant salad of romaine, cucumber, tomato, radish, and garbanzo with a lemon zing.
- The Signature Mock-tail: A bubbly apple cider with raspberry syrup, proving that the toast is just as sweet without the spirits.
This wedding was a beautiful reminder that when you strip away the expectations, what you’re left with is a day that actually looks—and feels—like you.

Corrie and Renie styled and decorated the wedding themselves, and managed to pull off a seemingly effortless vintage vineyard-meets-Great Gatsby look. Don't be fooled, though: it took them a year to prepare!

Wait. You’re telling me there are lesbians I don’t know in LA and there’s a pond in my backyard (I should probably change my name to NoHoMarie at this point) I didn’t even know about?! How is this possible? 🙂 Thanks for the beautiful pictures and the inspiration for a date location! Congratulations, ladies!

Man that looks like fun. And the food looks awesome!
The saddle shoes in the circle of rocks got me.
My fiance and I are looking for a venue in LA like this. Is it possible to let me know how you went about booking your wedding there? I can’t seem to find any contact info for Franklin Canyon Park or Heavenly Pond. Thanks!
