Nadia and Jonathan met working as freelance journalists in Washington D.c. before moving to New York City. Nadia, originally from Statesboro, GA, really wanted her wedding to be in her hometown so they made it happen. Nadia is the oldest of four children and the only girl. Her brothers were very emotional all day, and she and her dad shared a tearful first look. We may have shed a few on this end, too.

Nadia and Jonathan are both Muslim and had never kissed each other before the wedding day, so their portraits are particularly sweet and romantic. Don't miss the DIY centerpieces and decor, Jonathan's suit that was handmade by his mother(!), and a poignant reminder of who wasn't able to make it that day and why…

  1. Beautiful dress and bridesmaid dresses too. Love the grooms outfit too. Not sure what those round red desserts are, but they look tasty!

    • I’ve had them and they ARE good…what is the name for them, does anyone know??

      • They’re mostly known as Jalebis, and you can get them at Indo-Pak restaurants, stores and caterers. They come hot or room temperature, I think they’re best room temperature.

  2. I love this so much it’s made me grin with tears in my eyes! It looks like a day full of laugher and love and I LOVE the wedding cake!! Brilliant!

  3. Just gorgeous outfits. The guys and girls. The silver grey and purple work so well together. Love the deserts. Beautiful people looking so happy.

  4. Ouch the travel ban got me right in the feels! What a beautiful day- I am so so so sorry that the xenophobia of a white man stopped your loved ones from being able to celebrate with you in person! Hope you get a wonderful second party with them all!

  5. There is so much amazing happening here! I love it. The donut cake, the top hat, the rustic botanical vibe and the beautiful bride! So good.

  6. This is so cute! I’m happy the called out the presiden’t xenophobia too. May they have a great marriage.
