About Jamie Buckley Photography
Hi I’m Jamie!
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland I moved to Seattle in 2015 to be with my husband and in 2018 I started capturing weddings. Since 2020 I’ve been a full time photographer and honestly there’s no job I’d rather have in the whole world. I get to spend my summers going to events where people are always happy, there’s usually cake, and I get to see couples marry their favorite person.
I describe my photography style as editorial or photojournalistic which is a fancy way of saying I follow you around capturing organic photos rather than forcing moments. I’m a little bit moody in my tones and a prompter not a poser.

Frequently Asked Questions
I capture my wedding couples exactly as they are. Your day is about you, your connection to each other, and your connection to your family & friends. Think of me as a professional fly on the wall capturing your day as it happened. I receive a lot of compliments from couples on how at ease I made them feel, and many wedding guests comment on how personable I am (15 years as a barista means I can talk to anyone) and often they think I’m a friend of the couple which is the highest compliment I know!
When I’m not photographing weddings I’m probably reading a book, playing a video game, taking a hike, or showing someone a photo of my dog. He’s very photogenic.
I specialize in LGBTQ+, queer, and neuro-divergent weddings and elopements. I am a strong believer in meeting my couples where they are at. It is their day, not about my Instagram feed.
I primarily serve the PNW are (Seattle, Portland, Washington) but I can go anywhere as my husband and I live in an RV full time. We have a car so I won’t be showing up to your wedding in an RV don’t worry!
The first step is for a couple to read through my website and make sure our values and vibes align. It is very important to me that my couples feel completely comfortable with me because it helps them relax in front of the camera. Then they will fill out my contact form (the more info the better) and I’ll send them my pricing guide which allows them to select a package and set up a consult. I don’t book any weddings without doing a consult to make sure we get along! Then after the consult if the couple would like to move forward with me I’ll send over the contract and invoice to sign. a 25% retainer is due at signing and the remainder can either be one lump sum or split into payments, whichever works best for the couples finances.
I typically book about 1-1.5 years out.
What is your personality type?
I did a wedding a few years ago of two older gay men and it was so beautiful but I was especially proud of the fact that the couple saw my boudoir work and wanted to do that instead of an engagement session, and that the entire wedding party wanted me to come to the after party and hang with them because I fit in with them all so well.
I typically book around $3000-4500 and the main difference is hours of coverage and adding a second shooter.
I try to keep my pricing simple and straightforward without a lot of variables or add-ons. Wedding is stressful enough and especially for neuro-divergent people so making just a few differences between my packages helps streamline it for everyone.
Calming, fun, relaxed
(probably sarcastic too)
Do what YOU want to do, not what you think society wants you to do.
(Society includes your family too)
People who book me for my work, not a price point. Who see themselves represented in my portfolio and don’t have to imagine what their photos would look like.
