About Heart and Sola Creations
Embrace the strange and unusual – break traditions with WOOD FLOWERS that show off your personality & last a lifetime.
You’re not average. You appreciate the artistry that goes into beautiful floral design and you want to hold onto it for more than one day.
Wood flowers are a fun, eco-friendly alternative to traditional flowers for your big day. If you’re looking to customize your wedding, and want to leave your guests saying “wow this is *so* them” at your wedding – then wood flowers are the way to go.
And quite possibly the best part: you don’t have to worry about preserving the flowers after your event since they never wilt or die!
Some of my customers’ favorites are…
- Bouquets
- Boutonnieres
- Centerpieces
- Corsages
- Arch swags
The wood flowers I use to make wedding decor and bouquets are made from the root of a plant. The flowers have a cork or foam feel to them, they are completely natural and weigh next to nothing. You might notice knots or veins in the flower petals — that’s actually from the root of the plant itself. And just like real flowers, the knots and veins add a level of authenticity to your bouquet and decor.

Frequently Asked Questions
I create custom wood flower arrangements for couples who aren’t interested in doing things the traditional way. Whether your wedding is colorful, whimsical, unconventional, a little weird, or just completely your own, I’ll create florals around your vision instead of trying to fit you into a standard wedding template.
Wood flowers give me a lot of freedom to play with colors, flower styles, and designs that aren’t always possible with fresh flowers. And because they don’t wilt, your bouquet and other florals can stick around long after the wedding day.
If you’re looking for wedding flowers that feel personal instead of predictable, you’re in the right place.
Anything that breaks from the norm! I love an unusual color palette or a challenge to add something unexpected to the flowers.
I’m located near Philadelphia, PA but I ship my creations anywhere & everywhere! I’m available to setup within a small radius of 19014, with an additional travel fee for areas nearby but require more than an hour’s drive.
Ideally, at least 3 months before the wedding date. For detailed, big party, or large-scale designs, 6+ months is recommended.
Once someone inquires via my website form, they receive an interactive brochure/catalog where they can select the items they want, how many of each, upload images, share Pinterest boards, and ask questions. From there, I answer any questions and take what they’ve given me to create a contract. Both/all parties will need to sign the contract.
About 8 weeks before the event, we’ll all get together via video call to hammer out the details and address any final changes. This is also when the final payment is due.
Approximately 4 weeks before the event, I will ship – or they can pick up – their florals.
Choose wood flowers! No, really.
One of the biggest perks of wood florals is that your flowers can be completely done and out of the way long before wedding week even starts.
There’s no waiting for a delivery truck, wondering if your flowers will arrive on time, or crossing your fingers that everything shows up looking the way it’s supposed to. You get your flowers early, check one big thing off your list, and move on to the next thing without floral chaos hanging over your head.
And the stress relief doesn’t stop once the wedding starts! Your flowers aren’t going to wilt halfway through photos, die in the heat, or suddenly decide they’ve had enough because it’s been a long day. They’ll look just as good at the end of the night as they did when you first picked them up.
Plus, your guests will likely ask about them. Wood flowers tend to get a lot of “wait… those are WOOD?” reactions, which is honestly one of my favorite parts.
Most of my couples spend $1,800-$3,000 for party, family, and ceremony flowers – though I can do much more!
What affects cost most is sizing, quantity, and any special requests such as including sentimental items, specific/rare flower or greenery types, etc.
Every flower is hand-finished and every arrangement is designed to be loved long after the wedding day ends. Your flowers become part of your day, your home, and the story you keep revisiting years later.
My pricing is comparable to traditional floral pricing, not necessarily cheaper. The difference is what you’re actually paying for.
Wood florals can be created months ahead of your wedding in colors and styles you won’t necessarily find with fresh flowers. There’s no week-of rush, no wilting, and no worrying about preserving your bouquet afterward because your flowers are already made to last.
You’re paying for custom, handmade florals designed around your wedding that are ready well before the big day and can be enjoyed for years afterward.
My favorite clients describe me as creative, talented, easy to work with, communicative, attentive, thoughtful, flexible, personal, artistic, unique, and professional.
A lot of them specifically mention that I listen to what they want and can take a vague idea, color palette, photo, or handful of scattered thoughts and turn it into something that feels completely like them.
They also consistently describe working with me as easy, seamless, stress free, and fun, which tells me that the experience I provide is just as important to them as the flowers themselves.
They basically describe me as the florist who listens, gets their vision, and isn’t afraid to run with it. I’m someone they can hand their weird, unconventional, or not quite fully formed ideas to and trust me to turn them into something beautiful and personal.
They also recommend me because I make the process easy. I’m communicative, responsive, flexible, and I help take some of the stress out of wedding planning by having their flowers ready ahead of time.
And for my more alternative couples, there’s an especially strong theme of “Katie gets us.” They appreciate that I actively cater to alternative styles rather than expecting them to fit into a traditional wedding aesthetic.
If I had to boil all of that down to one sentence: “I’m the florist who listens to what you actually want, takes your weird ideas and runs with them, and creates flowers that feel completely and unapologetically you.”
Everything* I do is gender neutral!
* I only use gendered pronouns when specifically referring to someone who has provided their pronouns for me to use in reference to them.
