The Offbeat Bride: Skye, Nail Technician
Her offbeat partner: Evan, Tester/Inspector
Date and location of wedding: Historic Round Barn, Biglerville, PA — June 14, 2015
Our offbeat wedding at a glance:
Evan and I are high-school sweethearts and have been happy for nine years. Our wedding was themed around the woods, with a Twin Peaks undertone. We chose all of the elements of the wedding and were able to keep it pretty classic while adding some fun elements from my favorite show.
Tell us about the ceremony:
The ceremony was held in the trees, overlooking a vineyard. My grandfather was the minister who married us, along with my younger cousin playing a violin solo as I walked down the aisle. As a symbol of unity, we released two beautiful white doves. We loved that everyone was shuttled to the ceremony site by a small bus.
Tell us about your reception:
The cocktail hour kicked off with an espresso bar serving iced and hot coffee, along with fresh-squeezed lemonade. Inside the barn, we had gourmet donuts and jazz music. We entered to “Falling” by Julee Cruise to keep with the Twin Peaks theme.
Dinner was locally sourced chicken and fries from The Chicken Truck (similar to the Meals on Wheels included in the show). The decor was black and white chevron over mint tablecloths. The centerpieces were logs with wildflower arrangements, and each seat had a wood slice charger.
What was your most important lesson learned?
I would have to say that if I had hired a wedding planner, I may have been able to enjoy the process more. There were so many details to worry about.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Mazel Tov to Skye and Evan! Love all the details and the relaxed vibe. Now for the question I’ve been dying to ask: do all of you (maid of honor included) go to the same tattoo artist? If so, who is it? I love love love MOH’s half sleeve…and I’m thinking of expanding my shoulder piece 😉
Thank you so much!! We all have gone to several local artists, but that tattoo is actually a cover up done by Christina at Yours Truly in Hagerstown, MD.
Yes!!! I’m in the DC area. May have to make a visit up to Christina 🙂
The whole wedding is beautiful, but I just need to say that this bride is CRAZY GORGEOUS!! That dress! That headpiece!
Thank you so much!! You guys are amazing.
This looks so beautiful!! What was that colorful powder in the last picture?
We actually used smoke bombs for a few of our wedding photos. ??

I was a tiny bit hoping for pie with the twin peaks theme but whatever it’s so gorgeous. Kudos to your and your spouse
Oh no! You must have missed the pie! We served assorted pies instead of cake. The small cake was simply to cut. But thank you so much for the compliments!

Oh yay! I was waiting for the pie as I always loved Agent Cooper obsessing over the small town pies. I will admit that I only looked at these photos but not the video since I was on my phone. Such a clever and subtle theme.
Your dress is absolutely stunning. Where, oh where did you get it? Better yet, who makes it? This is the one time ever I’m hoping for something that isn’t vintage. Haha. 🙂
This is a Mori Lee dress actually! It was strapless, I had the cap sleeves beaded & attached. I’m actually selling my dress, depending on what size you need!
