How much glitter does one person's head really need? If your answer is SO MUCH OMG, then you'll be excited by several of the uber shimmery tiara options in today's post. If you're leaning more toward the understated, never fear: there's still plenty of you here. I know I'm not the only one who was loving the increeeeedible tiara the Jacqui wore during day one of her Cambodian wedding, so let's dive in!
Maureen totally rocked her non-gigantic tiara at her humanist wedding in 2011
I am totally into Fran's (in red) tiara in this photo — her wife, Von, handmade the piece out of copper wire and gemstone.
This crown is listed as something for a “king” but I see no reason why it couldn't be rocked by anyone who wanted to wear it, especially in a fantasy/magic-themed wedding.
This photo is from our Flickr pool, and the tiara was handmade by the bride herself! I'm especially infatuated by the teeny tiny leaf details.
This headband tiara is $48 on Etsy and it's faaaabulous. Bonus points: you already know it'll look great with purple hair!
Speaking of delicate details, this flower tiara is the sweetest — so sweet it'd be super perfect for a whimsical garden ceremony.
Another excellent tiara from our own archives is the one Amelia wore at her books and fairy tales wedding.
Did you (or do you plan to) wear a tiara at your wedding — and how excellent was the choice?
Offbeat Wed Vendor
This page features vendors from our curated Offbeat Wed Vendor Directory. They're awesome and we love them. If you're a vendor let's get you in here!
Actually, that crown that was listed as a Kings…I wore it for my 2010 nuptials that you featured. 🙂
Omg LINK!!
http://offbeatwed.com/2011/06/nebraska-renaissance-wedding. There was the feature. And here is a link of me wearing it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/47585703@N04/5058387602/
OMG YESSSS:
Hooray- I’ve missed me some quality fashion porn posts! Love that handmade one with the leaves! Wow!
I ordered a custom-made tiara on Etsy, but I guess the seller liked it so much she’s now offering it as one of her standard designs! It was pretty spectacular, if I do say so myself. The girl who’s most likely marrying my brother has already called dibs on it for her something borrowed. 🙂

I wore a “tiara” at my wedding. It was actually a necklace in my hair but I LOVED it. I was worried people would judge me but I decided I didn’t care.
One word of advise – I wish it had been slightly better attached. It was falling out by the end of the night…

Hopefully that’s the link to my pinterest and you can see it!!
I wore a necklace tiara, too! http://offbeatwed.com/2010/02/how-to-deal-with-gifted-accessories-that-just-dont-go
Love it!!
I love that we already know how the headband tiara looks with purple hair because that’s totally what my head is going to look like at my wedding! If only everything could be shown to me with whatever my current haircolor is, things would be so much easier.
Oh these are wonderful ideas – I already know I’m going to wear grapevines in my hair but don’t quite know how, so these will prompt some excellent brainstorming!
My friend B wore the flower tiara for her fabulous semi-jewish-medieval-garden wedding!
I’m not much the princess type (to my bf’s distress) but Jaqui’s tiara and pins (?) are sooo nice. Any idea where i could find something similar? Esp. the pins behind the tiara?
The best part is that I have wore my wedding tiara for several costume parties, LARPs and other fun times since my wedding!
Also, the tiara was in several pieces, so I can wear parts of it like a fancy clip.
The artist who made it doesn’t generally do tiaras, but I highly recommend her other beautiful work. She also teaches enamelling classes, which might be an awesome wedding party activity. Her name is Leslie Perrino http://www.leslieperrino.com/
For my wedding, I wore a vintage tiara that I found on eBay, & I’ve been wearing that one & collecting more tiaras ever since (great for cocktail parties :). I swear someday I’m gonna plunk down & buy one of those giant pageant / drag queen tiaras. Just so I can wear it around the house.
Picture?? Especially at the cocktail party!! I would LOVE to copy you there….
Here’s a few pix showing my wedding tiara & hairstyle – this tiara has become my go-to for parties even tho I’ve bought at least 5 tiaras since, lol http://www.fishcat.com/wedding/plan/brideshair.html
Tiara combined with a beautiful sapphire or diamond engagement ring? Stunning!
I always knew I wouldn’t want a Princess Day kind of ultra-trendy tiara (while they are lovely, they just aren’t my style so much), and I’ve been feeling like I might go veil-less as well… but my mom (who also went veil-less) asked me, “You’re going to have *something* for your hair, right?” So I thought about it a long time.
And then a comment on an OBB veil alternatives post led me to a wedding jewelry artist who does circlets, tiaras, crowns, and jewelry to match. I am in love with the idea of having a circlet! It feels so right for me, and totally perfect for the whimsical garden/enchanted forest/Celtic wedding I want 🙂
I researched ways to incorporate my Norwegian/Scandinavian heritage into my wedding, and wore a tiara. Traditional Norwegian bridal crowns had spoons and other jangly bits to tinkle and ward of evil spirits. I chose something a little less flashy, but still felt like I was honoring a tradition. It was surprising to my friends because I don’t seem much like a ‘princess-type’ in ordinary life.
TOO UNDERSTATED.
I am currently trying to figure out how I can shoehorn something like this into my budget because LET’S FUCKING DO THIS: http://www.etsy.com/listing/155465202/made-to-order-large-warrior-priestess?ref=shop_home_active
That is so gorgeous!!!
I hadn’t planned on any kind of crown, but now I really want one!
I wore a circlet at my wedding that I got from an OBB vendor. Camias Designs on Etsy. It was gorgeous and I can’t wait to wear it to future festivals!

I think I need the kingly crown for everyday endeavors

I did not have a tiara but did wear a giant sparkly headpiece. It was my favorite part of the wedding outfit by far. I found this amazing guy in Brooklyn who does custom jewelry and veils. His store is a dream destination for anyone who loves bling. The first time in the door it actually takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to all the shine!

Already my cousin and niece have asked for my headpiece as their ‘something borrowed.’
I’ll take the first one please! Um, showstopper. For serious.
I knew from day one I would be wearing a tiara. I am full-on princess in my every day life so why would I skimp out on that important detail in my wedding? I decided to get this tiara: https://www.etsy.com/listing/151673745/bridal-tiara-crystal-heart-tiara-diana?ref=favs_view_2
It was ultimately the best fit for me- sparkle, crystals, swirls, hearts, just perfect. And I keep wearing it around the house. I’m obsessed!
Hey! I wore that flower tiara at my wedding and loved it! I called it a headband though. Tiara seemed too much to me…

I just ordered my tiara today 😀
