When it comes to engagement shoots, the world is your oyster. Instead of a park or somewhere that doesn't really match who you are, you can absolutely choose to have some fun in a place you love… like a thrift store! Kristina and Peter (who happened to have just gotten married last weekend!) rocked this vintage throwback shoot at a local Goodwill including funky glasses and hats, old records, and some rolling chair races to finish it off.
Here's how Kristina and Peter came up with the idea…
We dreaded the idea of a lovey-dovey shoot with butterfly kisses, so we agreed to just not have engagement photos done. BUT then we were granted this really awesome opportunity to shoot our engagement session with an awesome photographer who loves out-of-the-norm wedding photos, and we had the idea to shoot at Goodwill.
It was like a giant closet to play in for the day. We love filling our house with old restored furniture and making funky decor out of things we find. I like to think of our personalities as “cool” grandparents stuck in the bodies of 27 years olds.
I love this photo shoot! I’m so into shopping second-hand. This is a date night for my partner and I, where we just rifle through all kinds of fun things, and never know what we’ll come away with. It’s so exciting! I’m glad you posted this.
