What I learned from Instagram: Wedding planning isn’t the People’s Choice Awards
I’ve come to hate the question: “How’s the wedding planning going?” Because it’s usually followed by someone totally shooting down my last planning decision. But here’s the deal: Wedding planning is stressful enough as it is. And if I listened to and implemented everyone else’s advice, then I would be planning their wedding and not my fiancé’s and mine.
Post your Instagram hashtag at your wedding reception
Bobbie and Mario knew a ton of their guests would be using Instagram at their wedding, so they posted a little sign letting everyone know the easiest hashtag to use, making it way easier to collect guest photos after the fact. That’s just one of about a million clever things these guys did at their wedding (wait until you see their wedding arch!)… check out Bobbie & Mario’s family-centric ranch wedding.
Use Facebook to “shame” your guests into RSVPing
Okay okay, we don’t really advocate Facebook shaming. And we totally think Facebook sucks, especially when you’re getting married. BUT(!) Tribesmaid stephanienjer did you use Facebook to get a leg up on her lazy RSVPs…
How this bride entered wedding stealth mode on Pinterest
We all have at least one friend we follow on Pinterest who is guilty of obsessively over-pinning wedding stuff. Her non-stop hoarding of the typical wedding/spam pins have made me realize a couple of things.
1. Unfollow that shiznit, pronto, before you burst into an epic feminist-esque rage.
2. Excessive pinning to a non-secret board is annoying.
Enlightenment #2 made a light bulb go off in my head…
Why you should absolutely do engagement photos if they’re included in your wedding package
“I didn’t think we wanted engagement photos. My partner hates being the center of attention and has requested we try to find a wedding photographer who won’t act like paparazzi. But a lot of the photographers I’m seeing have packages that include an engagement session. I don’t think we want to do them, even if they’re free. What do people even use them for? Is there any reason to do them?”
Yep. Because it’s really not about what you *do* with actual photos, it’s mostly just about practicing. Lemme explain…
A fabulous rainbow geek social media wedding
I’m going on 300 weddings edited and this is the FIRST French wedding I’ve done! In fact, we haven’t seen one in over two years. But when it finally came around, it came around with a bang. You will love this adorable couple, their rainbow-tastic details, geeky references, funky dancing, and ingenious use of the Tribe to get to vendors they wouldn’t otherwise have access to in France.
