It took a camping trip to gain the perspective that saved our wedding
I hear it said that “everyone has pre-wedding jitters” — what ifs and cold feet. But I had a full-on panic. Like, “I woke up crying and told my fiancé that I wanted to cancel the wedding” kind of panic. I came home that same day to a living room full of camping supplies. My fiance said that he had to get me out of here. Too tired to fight it, I allowed myself to be scooped into a car packed with blankets and hot dogs, and driven two hours out into the wilderness. It saved our wedding.
Lindsay & Ashraf’s multi-lingual vegan-friendly atheist wedding
A city hall ceremony started this pair off in matrimony, and then it was topped off by a three-day weekend of barbecues, brunches, and of course, a big ol’ multi-lingual party! Just wait until you see their M.C. Escher-inspired invitation, Wall-E cake toppers, and fruit centerpieces. But the best part is their funniest moments, which involve an overly enthusiastic ring dad and a translated baby. WHAT.
Robots, I Spy, s’mores, and a secret get-away table
Crystal and Justin’s wedding took place at Molly Ward Gardens in Poulsbo, WA where Justin worked as a teenager. They rocked their favorite themes: robots, the Seattle Sounders, colored glass, and chalkboard art. Plus, there was the added bonus of random wigs at the reception, an “I Spy” game, lots of pie and s’mores, and some kick-ass cheering shots! Oh, and don’t miss the motorboating shot. It’s hot and hilarious.
Scooter & Robert’s small rustic wedding
With a fabulous green house and garden venue, bread baked in flower pots, and a bonfire with s’mores, what could possibly go wrong? Just a too-large guest list. So this pair decided on a family-only celebration with lots of DIYed and adorable log details that totally played off the rustic vibe of the venue. Plus, you’ll love how the bride celebrates her departed dad and her three-generation ring photo.
