Constellations, a dragon cake, and BEARS at this Chicago planetarium wedding
Alex and Glenn were OVERFLOWING with ideas for their wedding. Alex’s Indian heritage was featured during the ceremony overlooking Lake Michigan in Chicago by focusing on a stunning mehndi-inspired aisle runner. They held it at the spectacular Adler Planetarium(!) which capitalized on Glenn’s love of constellations. Think outer space colors like deep fuchsia, purple, and blue, and “under the sea”-themed invitation suite, centerpieces featuring constellations and sea creatures,
Don’t miss the two epic dresses the bride wore, the fabulous dragon cake, and the constellation coloring book…
This wedding is like if David Lynch filmed The Addams Family ballroom scene (you’ll want to see!)
“The initial concept was: what if David Lynch was to film the ballroom scene from the Addams Family movie and the only cinematographer available was Xavier Pérez Grobet (Nacho Libre)?” Yep, this wedding had STYLE… and aerialists, contortionists, a cake with a terrarium in the middle, excellent vintage fashion, and so much personality. You’ll want to see it as much as you wanted to see its inspiration…
Ring security, puppy wranglers, and train conductors: Alternative wedding party roles for kids
We recently heard about a bride with five sisters, ranging in age from infant to adult, all needing a role in her wedding party. We’re fans of having just as many bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, flower girls, ring bears, flower grandmas, adult male flower girls, bell ringers, and aisle walkers as you like (WHEW!), so we’re all for making this way less of a stress than it would be otherwise. Or, if you’re looking for beautiful simplicity, consider having no wedding party, and nobody gets left out. But if you’re going for inclusion, here are some alternative wedding party roles for kids we’d recommend AND how it’s been done traditionally, just for reference.
Stacia & Kevin’s space-y Groundhog Day wedding with a ring bear
Our favorite member of the wedding party, the RING BEAR, returns! This time inside a space-y sci-fi-themed wedding in Seattle that includes sci-fi save-the-dates, Thai catering, and space grab bag favors. These high school sweethearts and their team of “Groundhoggers” totally know how to party (and awesomely get kicked out of the after party!).
